Happy Father's Day to everyone! We have been enjoying a nice relaxing weekend at home; they are going to be coming to an end very soon. We went to the pool yesterday and today. Briley completely loves spending the day at the pool. She never stops! When she isn't busy climbing in and out of the pool, she is playing in the rocks or walking laps around the pool. The girl is always on a mission! I would love to know what is going through her head.
After going to the pool, we headed downtown to our old loft to pick up a package that accidentally got sent there. We then went to the power and light district for dinner. We had a tasty dinner at Ted's Montana Steakhouse. After dinner, we rented The Bucket List and we both really enjoyed it. I even stayed awake for the whole thing, which is pretty impressive.
I got up Sunday morning and made Andy honey baked french toast and sausage. After breakfast, Briley gave Daddy his gifts. Briley gave him a frame with her picture, handprints, and a poem in it. It was so sweet! She also picked out supplies for him to help her build a sandcastle on vacation, and a new shirt and tie for his new job.
While Andy was watching tv and I was busy in the kitchen he yelled at me to look in the laundry room. I looked in and Briley was sitting inside the dryer. She has been working on getting in there and today she succeeded. I think this will probably be her new little game. She has a fascination with the laundry room. She likes to help me put clothes in the dryer, open and close the door, drag things out of the dryer, and put clothes away. She is Mommy's little helper!
Andy requested fried chicken for dinner so fried chicken is what he got. We also had corn, cornbread, and cauliflower and broccoli for me. We topped it off with a "chocolate chip cookie and pudding layered dish." Andy says I am turning into my Mom with my "layered dish" but it's good! We capped off Father's Day with Andy watching the US Open, me working on the blog, and Briley asleep in my lap. Briley has a tooth that just started to reveal itself so she has not been in the best of moods today. We hope everyone had a great Father's Day!
