Sunny days, cool drinks, and sand between your toes...ahhhh it's vacation!

We woke up last Saturday and packed back up and continued on our way to the beach. Before we left St. Louis, we turned Briley's car seat around so that she was facing forward. We thought a new view might make our trip down to Florida a little easier with her. She was very excited to not have to look at the back of the seat for 12 hours, but Andy believes she was much more noisy. Lissy rode with us on the way down and helped keep Briley occupied. Thank you Lissy! Along the way we found out something new about Briley, she loves the movie Anchorman. Who would have guessed that Ron Bergundy could have held her attention for 2 hours? We stopped at Texas Roadhouse on the way for dinner and Jackson, Ellie, and Briley really enjoyed dancing with the waiters and waitresses. It was nice that they got to run off a little energy. We stayed at a hotel outside of Birmingham for the night, and the kids got to run around a little before going to bed.
On Sunday we got dressed in our family vacation t-shirts(courtesy of Grandma and Papa) and got back into the car and made our way to Seaside. We arrived around 11:00 and had lunch with the Bobzien's. We walked around Seaside awhile before heading to our beach house. The houses were perfect and after getting everything unpacked, we headed down to the beach. Briley loved the ocean and beach, especially in the evening when the sun wasn't in her eyes. She and her cousins would play for hours in the ocean and sand if we let them.
My family arrived on Monday afternoon. It was so nice to have them down there with us. I know Briley was very excited to have more of her family there. For some reason she gets really excited when she sees her Uncle Asa. We have decided that it must be his Bozo like hair that she likes so much. My Mom celebrated her 51st birthday while we were there so we took her to Red Bar for dinner. It is a quirky little beach bar with delicious food! We went to the Roof Top Bar for a birthday drink and ended with some Frost Bites. Yummy! The Early's serenaded my Mom with "The Old Gray Mare" which I'm sure she appreciated.
We had a surprise at the beach on Tuesday when Sara, Ryan, and Bella showed up at the beach. They weren't originally coming because Ryan had an important meeting at work that he couldn't miss, but the meeting was canceled so they packed up and drove down at the last minute. It was so nice to have everyone there together. It is the first time the Grandkids have all been together. Overall, the vacation was relaxing, full of fun, and many unforgettable memories.
