Promotions and Birthdays

This past weekend was a busy one for the Early family. The weekend could not have started off any better; on Thursday we found out that Autumn was promoted to Assistant Manager of the Goddard Day School she works at. We were so excited because not only does she get a raise, we get FREE childcare which will save us a buddle every month. I am so proud of her and there is nobody that deserved it more than her. On Thursday night, Autumn and I got a babysitter and headed downtown to a Pat Green concert at Kansas City Live in the Power and Light District. Both the night out and concert were great; we even saw a lot of our friends that we had not seen in awhile.

On Friday we loaded up the family roadster and headed for Kirksville and on the way we stopped to celebrate Autumn’s promotion with a delicious dinner at our favorite restaurant, Pear Tree. Also on Friday, Autumn’s sister Amity (a.k.a Mother Theresa) returned from her mission/internship trip to Costa Rica. It sounds like she had an amazing time and is even interested in taking some time off after she finishes school to do some more mission work. It would be a great opportunity for her and there are plenty of people out there that are in need of help.

Saturday was Carson’s big first birthday party and Amanda and Todd hosted a wonderful pool party for the occasion. It’s hard to believe that Carson is already 1, he is growing up too fast. My cousins Jimmy and Jane and their five kids also came into town to visit and it was great to see them; their kids are so well behaved and are a joy to be around. That night, we joined Autumn’s Dad and sister at a local bar to watch the Mizzou game. On Sunday, we went to church with my family and then had lunch with Autumn’s mom and grandparents. Sunday night, Allison and Andrew had everyone over for dinner at their house which is almost completely done and looks amazing. Before heading back to Kansas City on Monday, we took some time to relax by the pool one last time; it’s hard to believe that summer is almost over. Well, that is our weekend in a nutshell; hope yours was just as eventful.
