Papa Visits

Friday night we had a cul-de-sac party. We had a BBQ and the kids got to make smores and watch a movie projected on one of our neighbors garages. Briley was so excited to get her PJ's on and watch the movie in her sleeping bag. It was pretty cute.
Papa Sparks came down on Saturday and stayed till today. He watched Briley Saturday night so that Andy and I could have a date night. We had tickets to see Chicago at the Starlight and I was so excited about it. On our way there, the clouds were looking dark and right about the time we got there it started to rain. The show is rain or shine so we went in with our umbrella and hoped for the best. We bought ponchos inside the theatre and got them on before the downpour began. We stood under the canopy for awhile and then it seemed to slow down a bit so we went to our seats. We sat there for about 10 minutes and the rain and lightening began again and we went back to the canopy. It finally slowed down to a sprinkle for the second half and we went back and sat down. I must say that it was pretty entertaining. I wouldn't put the date down as one of the most romantic nights. Ponchos are not the most attractive things.
On Sunday, my Dad and I took Briley to the zoo. She loved seeing all of the different animals. The zoo was pretty empty so we didn't really have to mess with crowds and the weather was perfect. Towards the end Briley started to get fussy and as we walked out with Briley screaming and trying to get out of her stroller, my Dad decided it might be the last time he makes the trip to the zoo:) He said he took two grandchildren to the zoo and that was enough.
Briley spent Monday and Tuesday at home with Papa and I know she really enjoyed it. She keeps asking where he went to. They watched a lot of Wizard of Oz and ate a lot of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal from what it sounds like.
We had a doctor's appointment today and had our first ultrasound. The baby looks great so far and has a strong heartbeat. Briley has been carrying the ultrasound picture around with her saying that it is her Baby Sister not brother. She is adament that it is a sister. I'm afraid we may have a very disappointed girl if it is not sister. We'll see.
