We went to Shelbyville on Wednesday for the visitation and funeral. My Grandpa had everything preplanned so it was quick for them to get ready. Thursday morning we went to the funeral home to visit. They opened his casket and Briley said, "Close the door, Papa is sleeping!" She was very concerned about us bothering him while he slept. A child is great for lightening the mood that is for sure. The visitation was Thursday and then the funeral was on Friday. The funeral was the perfect celebration to his life. After the funeral, I took some pictures of Briley playing in the leaves at the cemetary before we headed to the lunch at the Church.
When we got back to my Grandma's, Briley went out to play in the leaves with Asa and Am. This kept her entertained for quite sometime. That night Amity, Asa, and Briley played hide and seek. It took Asa 30 minutes to find Am and Briley. They were hiding in a closet upstairs. When he finally found them, they started going through the closet and you can see by the pictures below, what became of it.
Andy, Briley, and I got up on Saturday and went to Columbia for the Mizzou game. This was the first Mizzou game for Briley and I think she enjoyed it eventhough they lost. Andy and I have decided that it is best not to go to games because we never see our teams when. It is always a guarantee that they will lose if we go to the game. Our tickets were right next to the band and she enjoyed dancing and clapping as they played. That night we drove back home and it was nice to be back in our own beds! We also had today to get things done around the house before going back to work tomorrow. Andy even got our Christmas lights up. I must say that he did a great job! We won't actually turn them on for a couple more weeks, but it was nice to get them up while we had this beautiful weather.
