A Christmas to Remember

Wow! What a crazy Christmas. The kiddos were up and ready to go at around 6:00 a.m Christmas Eve morning. This year was so much fun with Briley. She was so excited and really got caught up in the magic of the season which was amazing to watch. She loves her dollhouse that she got and Baylor seems to enjoy his dump truck. He really likes running it into the dollhouse which as you can imagine causes some problems. The gift Briley was most excited to receive this year was a little duck from Target called Jellybean. She has one in her class at school and has been asking for one since last May. I love the fact that the simple things excite her so much right now and I dread the day that she starts asking for the electronics. After breakfast and letting the kids play we were off to spend the holidays with our families.

We got home around 2:00 and Andy began to feel achy. By Church at 5:00 he was feeling pretty bad and ended up dropping us off and going back to his parents. He was in bed when I got back so I took the kiddos to my Dads for dinner with family and friends. We opened a few gifts, one of which was my favorite gift that I gave this year. We gave my Uncle and Dad each a platter that has a recipe that my Grandma had written. They really turned out neat and it was cool that it was in her handwriting. I would like to do a series of them from different family members to hang in the kitchen someday. At about 9:30 we went back to the Early house and Andy had been kicked out to the poolhouse with the stomach flu. I put the kids to bed and we ended up not going to midnight mass. I thought it would be best to take Tamiflu and rest in the hopes of not getting it.
Christmas morning was a whirlwind. We opened presents at Andy's parents and then went to my Dad's to open a few more. Andy hung in there through it all and was well enough for Christmas dinner which was a good thing.
We then went to my Mom's for Christmas night and had Christmas with that side Monday morning and then the wedding preparations began:)
