As November begins I can't help to think about all the things in my life to be thankful for. Last week my sister came to meet Finley for the first time, and I have been counting down since the day she was born. I picked her up at the airport while Andy took Briley and Baylor to the Night of the Living Farm at Deanna Rose. The week was spent going to Finley's two month checkup, lunch with Briley, pumpkin patch field trip, cider donuts, hiking at Thousand Hills, monkey bars and swings, Halloween party, costume making/hunting, and topped off with a trip to the World Series Game 4. It was a whirlwind of a week, but we enjoyed every moment.
Finley is weighing in at 10 lbs, 12 oz. and is 22.3 inches. She is growing like a weed. She also experienced her first round of shots and did take it well. She was a little grumpy for the next few days.
I got to read to Baylor's preschool class on Tuesday morning followed by lunch with Briley. Baylor was so surprised when I came into his room and sat down in circle. His smile was from ear to ear, and I'm so happy that I got to do that before I go back to work. That night I took Briley to the pumpkin patch while Amity watched the other two kids. She was in need of some one on one time with me. It has been a bit hard for her to go to school everyday when I spend time with Baylor and Finley at home.
We went to the pumpkin patch with Baylor's class and that was fun on Wednesday. We saw two day old pigs, a hayride, playing on a fire truck, and picking out a pumpkin in the patch. I tried to talk Baylor into a big pumpkin to carve, but we would have none of it. He wanted a cute little pumpkin that he could hold all by himself, and he was very proud of it. On our way back to school to pick Baylor up from the bus, we stopped at Dunn's Cider to get some cider donuts. One of my favorite things about fall.
Amity, the kids, and I went back to Kirksville on Thursday. We did some exploring at Thousand Hills, celebrated Lola, Grayson, and Preston's birthday at the annual Halloween party, my Mom took the kids to the farm and Truman observatory, spent time with Great Grandma and visited Willadene. On Sunday we were off to St. Louis for the World Series. Unfortunately we lost the game, but Amity and I enjoyed being a part of the experience. From the march of the clydesdales to trying to get on tv...we had fun.
Monday morning we dropped Amity off at the airport and drove back to Kansas City. Andy stayed in St. Louis to join his Parents, Lissy, and Zane for game 5. Another loss, but fun was still had by all:) I gave Baylor my Rally towel that night and he has been sleeping with it every night since. Too cute! He is going to be as big of a Cardinal's fan as his Daddy.
