Happy Fourth of July!

Two weeks ago we went home for the Fourth of July.  We haven't been home in four years for this holiday so we were excited.  The weather was beautiful and the kids enjoyed swimming all weekend long.  Briley learned how to dive which is pretty exciting and Baylor is swimming like a little fish.  Briley and Baylor both really enjoyed shooting off fireworks which surprised me because they are so sensitive to loud noises.  Finley was oblivious to them which was also surprising.

Since then, we visited Antioch Park for a picnic which is Briley's favorite.  Baylor was brave enough this year to go across the lily pads.  We have also been busy swimming, and had a lemonade stand.
Briley also had her last softball game of the year.  I think she had a lot of fun playing, and she really did a great job.
Last weekend Andy took Briley and Baylor back to Kirksville for the Killday reunion, and I stayed in Kansas City to pick Amity up from the airport.  She was coming back for a wedding and to visit everyone.  Long story short, her trip was lengthy and she didn't get in until Saturday morning.  By the time we did a little shopping and got lunch, she was off to the wedding.  I must say the house was very quiet with just Finley and I.
Sunday morning we got up early and went back to Kirksville.  Andy passed off the kids and he went back to Kansas City to fly to Nashville for work.  Juan Carlos was in town to visit everyone and it was so nice to see him.   The last time we saw each other I was pregnant with Baylor.  Way too long! The kids enjoyed riding bikes at Grandma's, swimming, and a cousin sleepover while we were there.  We brought Amity back to Kansas City Tuesday afternoon and she was off.  It was great seeing everyone over the weekend, and I look forward to November's trip to celebrate an 80th birthday party!  I'm hoping by then I will be feeling better.  This nausea and tiredness is knocking me down this time around.

Finley loves her huckleberries that Am brought her.

It makes me sad when I hear someone say they are "glad" that the baby days are over....I could never be happy that those days are over but I will always, always, always be thankful for the heart growing blessings of those days.
