September

We are back in the routine of school, practices, and games again.  It has been awhile since I have posted, and I'm hoping I can remember the things that happened. The week after Finley's birthday we welcomed our newest niece into the world.  Miss Sadie Joy Taylor was born on August 30th and she is as sweet as she can be.  We went to Pella for Labor Day weekend, and I think the kids all enjoyed spending time with their cousins.  Atticus loved seeing the towers all over town, and he is very concerned about who wears the big wooden shoes.  On the way home we stopped at a restaurant that was voted to have the best tenderloins in Iowa.  Andy loves a good tenderloin.
The following week Finley began dance.  I don't think I have ever seen a girl more excited before.  That night Briley had a soccer game that they won 13-0.  She got a hat trick for the first time.  The girls lost the first two games so I think they really needed this confidence boost.  So proud of how they all played.
Baylor had a game Saturday morning and he scored a goal.  Briley and Baylor have a competition going on who can score the most goals this season.  Briley has 4 and Baylor has 3.  We will see how the rest of the season goes.
That night Briley and I met Heather and Ainsley for dinner at BRGR.  After dinner we were off to Starlight for Grease.  Briley has been looking forward to this all summer long.  The show was good, and they loved singing along to all of the songs.  These two love going to broadway shows together, and it is always fun to catch up.
Sunday morning was Briley's first time of alter serving.  She was so nervous about it all morning, and really kind of snippy with Andy and I before heading to Church, but she did a great job.  She can't wait until she gets to do it again next month.
Baylor had a birthday party the other day at Paradise Park in Lee's Summit.  He decided it was the best place ever for a birthday party.  They were able to ride go karts all by themselves, and he was excited about that.
We took the kids to a Sporting KC game a couple of weeks ago.  They have been begging to go all summer so they were very excited when we told them we were going.  We were in a suite and the kids were in heaven with the all you can eat.  I can't tell you how many trips they took to the buffet line for primarily desserts.  It was a really good game and we won.  Andy and I think we must be good luck for them because we have never seen them lose a game.
Lissy came earlier this week to do some photo shoots.  She helped me pick our pictures for our wall and I can't wait for them to come in.  We went out to dinner, did a little belated birthday shopping for Finley, started watching the new season of Call the Midwife, and of course pictures.  Finley kept telling Lissy she wanted a parachute (photo shoot)
Lastly, we celebrated Andy's birthday this week.  He picked up Oklahoma Joe's on the way home for dinner.  I had made bread pudding for his birthday treat much to the kids dismay.  I attempted a recipe that came from a restaurant in Fresno that he has talked about for several years.  He says they have the best bread pudding, and it is really the only thing he looks forward to when he goes to Fresno.  He said it tasted just like it so I guess it was a success.  We opened presents after dinner and he got very exciting things like a brown belt, dress socks, and a new backpack.  Baylor also made a picture for Andy to hang in his office.  He wrapped the picture up by putting it in his Mexican sombrero and covered it with a police hat.  It was also Viva's birthday, and so we got her a special little treat.  It is hard to believe that she is 10 years old.  Maybe it is hard to believe because she doesn't act like she is ten.
Funny words of Finley:  She told me today they had tomato chips at school for snack.  I kept asking her what that was and she said we have them at home.  Finally realized she meant potato chips.

He is the ball park kid.
