We kicked off Halloween last weekend by going to Night of the Living Farm at Deanna Rose. We never made it out to the pumpkin patch so I thought we could try this out this year. All the proceeds go back into the farmstead and if you haven't ever gone, it is a really neat and cheap activity to do with the kids. The kids got to wear their costumes and go trick or treating around the farm. They also had a lot of fun extra activities that you could do for all ages. We went on the non-scary hayride versus the scary hayride, we did a flashlight scavenger hunt through the woods, roasted some smore's, ate some kettle corn, and danced. We attempted to go into the spooky barn, but you can imagine Briley stopped dead in her tracks when we got to the door:) Andy said this was so much better than the pumpkin patch because everything was pretty much free once you bought your ticket.
The next morning was Briley's last soccer game and it was a cold one! After the game they had a pizza party and was awarded their trophies. Briley really had a lot of fun this year and she looks forward to doing spring soccer with this same team.
After the pizza party, we ran home and started getting ready our pumpkin carving party. I failed to take any good pictures of the decorations, but it was so much fun. We had a great turn out and everyone seemed to have a good time. I didn't realize how many missed us not doing this last year. I guess we really need to make a point of doing this party annually. It was a little chilly so a lot of the party was done in the garage, but it worked out pretty well and we didn't have the pumpkin mess in the house which was great.
During the party we also got some exciting news that Amanda was in labor. She had Preston and Grayson Sunday morning and we cannot wait to meet them in a few weeks. Everyone seems to be doing great. Congratulations Bobziens!
Wednesday night was Halloween and we went out with our cul-de-sac trick or treating. It was a great night to be out luckily because Briley refuses to cover up her costume with a coat.
