October Fun

Well it has been too long since I have updated the blog!  At the end of September we celebrated Andy's 39th birthday.  Lissy was in town to do pictures and we all went out Friday night to celebrate.  We went downtown to eat at a place called Corvino.  The food was good, and we tried a lot of things on their menu.  After we ate, we went to Power and Light to listen to The Stolen Winnebago.  Our old neighbor plays in the band so it was fun to listen to him.  We had a great night out on the town.

Later that week I took the kids to Louisburg Cider Mill for some cider donuts.  It was a quick trip since they had Church, but we all enjoyed donuts and cider.  This outing is always a highlight for the kids each year.

We had the Taylors, Sedlaks, Groenings, and Andy's parents visit us at the beginning of October.  The weather was beautiful that weekend.  We had a movie night Friday outside and watched Casper.  The next day we had soccer games, and then an outing to Johnson Farms.  It was wonderful having everyone here to visit.

Andy went to a Chiefs game that Sunday after everyone left.  He said it was weird to have the stadium be so empty, but he said it was nice to see people from work that he hadn't seen in awhile.

October was filled with a lot of soccer games that kept us very busy.  The kids all had great seasons, and most importantly they had a lot of fun.  I think they had really missed not playing in the spring.  Briley also had a short cross country season.  She only had two meets, but she finished first in the girls at one meet, and I think third in the other.  Now we are on to basketball, and indoor soccer.

Amity and Billy finally made it back home after almost a year.  I don't think we have ever been apart for that long, and we had all missed them so much.  So happy they were able to get back in the middle of this pandemic.  We went to the Negro Baseball Museum while they were here, and ate out at the Parlor afterwards.  That night we went trick or treating with friends in the neighborhood.  It was nice to see everyone and catch up.  The kids got way too much candy this year with people putting out bags of candy instead of them just giving one or two pieces.  We also had several sweet neighbors that brought over goodie bags for our kids because they were not going to be home.   Briley went to a party with friends for Halloween as she has the past couple of years.

Amity and Billy left our house to  travel around Missouri seeing everyone, but they came back on Friday along with Lissy.  We spent Friday dress shopping for Amity, and she found one that fits her beautifully.  I know it is nice to have one more thing checked off her list.  I took them to the airport on Saturday afternoon, and our fingers are crossed that Amity is going to be able to come back for Christmas.

The weather has been so nice that we have been trying to soak it all in before it gets cold.  We ate outside the other night which is something I don't think we have done before in November.  Andy also took the kids mountain biking one afternoon.  Baylor loved it and has been asking to go every day since.

The kids didn't have school this Monday so we went to the zoo.  The animals were really out and about with the weather being cooler.  The sloth was also awake so that was a highlight of the trip.

Fall has been so much fun, and we have soaked up every bit of the warm weather.  It was good to have family members visit, fun outings throughout the month, and the kids back in school.

Our neighbor Carl, just won the state representative seat.  We were lucky enough to be the family on his brochures.
