This is our year of graduations. We have Briley as a senior, Baylor as an 8th grader, and Finley in 5th grade. Atticus does not have a graduation but he is ready to rock 4th grade. It was a rainy first day of school so Briley’s senior sunrise was moved to the following Friday. While we all enjoyed the summer, it has been good for us all to get back into a routine. I am back to working in the office while the kids are at school and the adult interaction has been nice.
Briley got a graduation gift nine months early when our trusty old Suzuki finally gave out. This was Autumn and I’s first big purchase as a married couple. It was the car we brought 3 kids home from the hospital in, and the car that took us on countless road trips. It was sad to see it go, but it served its purpose. We went and bought her a new Kia Sportage which she loves.
As far as fall sports go, Briley is running cross country, Baylor made the switch to football after being the only 8th grade boy on cross country, Finley is playing soccer and dance, and Atticus is doing soccer and flag football. Our schedule is going to get crazy after Labor Day, but it’s good to be busy these days. These kids have shown their resilience and fortitude over the last year and a half, and I know they will all have an amazing year.
