Sporting Events Anyone?

Ok…ok, I am updating our blog. Sorry for the delay but we have both been really busy at work and on the weekends so when we do have some free time, the last thing we want to do it update the blog. Where should I begin?

Two weekends ago we went to St. Louis for Bella’s Baptism. It was great to see Bella and it is amazing how big she has gotten since vacation. As always, Briley enjoyed her time playing with her cousins; it’s so funny to see them interacting more and more. She even knows Jackson’s name now; I mean how can you forget him? Autumn shows her pictures of everyone and she is slowly learning the names. We stayed with Aunt Lissy again and we greatly appreciated her hospitality; I’m sure she is still finding Cheerios around her apartment.

This past weekend was a weekend of friends and sports. Friday night Jonathan and Tabitha Cleaver came into town for the weekend. That night, the bank I work for was having an outing at the T-Bones game. The T-Bones are a minor league baseball team and they have a really nice, fan friendly ballpark out by the race track. We had a great time as food and drink were provided. It gave Autumn and Briley the opportunity to meet everyone I work with. The actual game however, was not so good, the T-Bones lost 16 – 9. We did get to see a blast from the past, Bo Hart, of St. Louis Cardinals fame, now plays for the T-Bones; what a long fall that was. They even showed the Michael Phelps race live on the jumbo-tron and as I’m sure you all know that race was way too close for comfort. That guy just amazes me and I must say his body looks eerily similar to my own; six pack and all. It was kind of funny because all of the players even stopped to watch. On Saturday, we took the Cleavers to Parkville since they have never been and after a fully day of shopping and eating we headed back home to get a little R&R before going to the Chiefs preseason home opener. Jonathan’s parents have season ticket and Jonathan and Tabitha were nice enough to ask us to go. It’s a really good time when you go with the Cleavers because they have really good seats and VIP tailgating which is all you can, all you can drink; needles to say we all went into the game very full and very happy. KC Wolf and the Chief Cheerleaders even came into the VIP tailgate for pictures so we made sure Briley got her picture taken with them; as you can tell from the pictures, she did not know quite what to think. As for the game, the Chiefs kept the game close but it all ended in a loss; unfortunately I’m afraid there might be a lot of those this year. Briley must be a fan of sporting events in general because as long as she has her Cheerios she will just sit and watch any game. Even though they lost we still had a great time and we can’t thank Jonathan and Tab enough for letting us join them. On Sunday we had a nice breakfast at a place here in town and then the Cleavers hit the road; we had a great weekend with them and can’t wait to see them again.

Well, there you go; I hope this satisfies the complainers. Hope everyone has a good week.
