Happy New Year!

Our Christmas was busy as usual, but we really enjoyed our time back home. After our Christmas at home, I packed up the car while Andy went to work. When he got home at 12:00 we were on the road. Our first stop was my Dad's house for dinner with my Uncle Rick, his girlfriend Lisa, and her family. We watched Christmas movies, opened presents, and ate pizza. Briley got an adorable pop up princess tent that she absolutely loves (along with everyone else). After dinner, we headed over to Andy's parents house to get ready for Midnight Mass. Briley surprisingly stayed up for the whole mass along with all of her cousins. We hurried home after Church and went to bed around 2:30.
8:00 in the morning came way too early on Christmas Day. We unfortunately had to wake Briley up and head back over to my Dad's to open presents. Andy and I got money to put towards our new house and Briley got a load of fun new toys. Some of her favorites are her band set and her Teddy Ruxpin. Next, we headed back to Andy's parents to open presents there. We got a lot of things that will go great in our new house. I can hardly wait! The rest of the day was spent lounging around and napping. We finally mustered up enough energy to take showers around 4 before everyone showed up for dinner. My family, Tom, and Andy's Aunt Sue came over that night for a delicious Christmas dinner. Thank you Mike and Mary Carol for the wonderful meal. When dinner was over, we opened up our sibling gifts and watched a Christmas video that Allison had made for her parents. Andy, Briley, and I then packed our bags and went to my Mom's to spend the night.
We got up Friday morning and had Christmas with my Mom. Again, we got a lot of great things for our new house and Briley got an American Girl doll, cupcake kit, and lots of new outfits. I got Mama Mia and so we watched that after breakfast. Andy complained the whole time, but Am and I caught him singing Mama Mia while emptying the dishwasher later on. My Mom watched Briley that afternoon while Andy and I went to see Marley and Me. I suggest everyone go see this movie or read the book if they love dogs or not. It is such a great movie about being a family. It shows the highs and lows that we all go through at one point or another. That night we packed up again and went to my Dad's.
Saturday we went to Columbia for Andy's cousin, Abby's wedding. It was a very sweet wedding and they were so cute together. You can really tell that they both love each other very much. We had to leave the reception a little early due to the weather, but we really enjoyed seeing everyone and wished we could stay longer.
On Sunday we packed up the car and went to my Grandparents for their Christmas. My Great Uncle Dick and Aunt Elaine came for lunch. It was so nice to see them both. It had really been too long. After eating we got gas and started the drive back to Kansas City. I have to mention that while getting gas Andy washed off our windows and then got back in the car. He started the engine and drove off, and then we heard a really loud noise behind us. We looked back, and saw the gas hose still attached to our car. Andy had forgotten to take it out of the gas tank before driving off. Luckily, the hose was easy to attach back on to the tank. I have to say that evertime I pictured it I would start laughing. The situation reminded me so much of something his Dad would do. Well I better stop writing for now, but I do hope everyone has a great new year!
