Happy Halloween!

We have been very busy in the Early household the past couple weeks. Briley became potty-trained a couple weeks ago which is very exciting. We get a few months diaper free before the new baby comes! She is very cute when she tells us she has to go to the bathroom. She tells us she has to "twinkle". It makes me smile everytime. I have some pictures below of her panty party that Andy and I had for her when she started using the bathroom. It consisted of ice cream with sprinkles and of course gifts of princess panties. She loved it!

We went home last weekend since we had decided to stay in Kansas City for Halloween. It was really a nice weekend of relaxing. Briley showed off her Aerial costume to Ellie and my Dad because that is what she had decided to be for Halloween. She got some fun Halloween gifts from her Grandparents and a bag of candy and a cell phone from my Uncle and his girlfriend. She became very excited about this whole Halloween thing.

Carson and Amanda came to stay with us on Monday night. They were driving up from Texas and stayed with us on their way to Kirksville. Briley was very excited to see her cousin. I just wish they could have spent more time together. Oh well, they will have plenty of time to play in a month. Amanda is doing well and the twins are growing like they should be. It is fun that our kid's will all be so close in age.

Tuesday was Briley's Fall Festival at school. She did not go as Aerial though. She went as a candy corn witch. After watching Hocus Pocus for the past week, she decided that is what she wanted to be. We bought the costume Monday and I must say that she made the perfect little witch. She had a lot of fun at her party. I was busy being in charge of everything so Andy was the lucky one to go around to all the activities with her.

Last night was our first Halloween in our neighborhood and it was so much fun! We had really debated on whether to stay here or go back home and in the end we decided to stay. Andy and I worked all day to get the house and yard ready for the scavenger hunt. I made spider cupcakes and oreo eyeballs as well as set up the scavenger hunt throughout the yard. We had pizza and appetizers out in the cul-de-sac and then we were off trick or treating. I must say that our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. There were some really neat houses. Our neighbor behind us had black light that showed monster foot prints going up to his door where he was dressed up passing out candy. Briley would not go up because it was too scary. He had to come to her. We also had a house with a guy sitting in his garage (to show of his ferrari and BMW) handing out candy to the kids and beer to the adults. Andy was impressed by this house. Our HOA was set up at one of the houses and they had cookies, treats, and drinks for everyone. It was our halfway mark and then it was on to our house for the scavenger hunt. The kids and parents had a lot of fun with the hunt. The end result was desserts and hot chocolate in our kitchen. Andy and I think we will step it up next year and make it a little harder for them. Overall, the night was so much fun! This was the first year that Briley has gotten to really enjoy trick or treating and she loved every minute of it. She has been dragging around her candy purse all morning.
