Briley and I had this whole week off and it was perfect! We got back home last Sunday and Andy took off Monday to work on the basement. I had a three hour long glucose test to start my morning which was not fun at all. My arms are still all black and blue from them poking and prodding on me. The test came out fine which I knew it would. I am protesting against tests for the rest of this pregnancy!
On Tuesday, Briley and I went to the mall to return a few items from Christmas. I had promised her that if she was good, we could ride the Merry Go Round. Well, the time came and we walked over to get a token and I realized it was $2.00 not $1.00. I only had a one and a one hundred dollar bill, so we had to go find a place that would break it. After getting some gelato and socks, we had it broke and headed back over. She was so excited! After the ride, we loaded up and went back home.
Wednesday was spent running more errands, we had a tea party with apple cinnamon tea and cheerios (the perfect combination in Briley's opinion), and then went out to play in the snow. Briley wanted to make a snow angel and then we built a lopsided snowman that Daddy had to fix when he got home. We have gotten about 16 inches of snow here so far this week! Andy has had to shovel the drive three times.
Briley and I made a cupcake cake on Thursday to celebrate New Year's. Andy got home early and we went out to eat with our neighbors and their kids. We ate at California Pizza Kitchen and then went ice skating. It was freezing cold and Andy's back began hurting after helping Briley skate so it didn't last too long, but Briley loved it. She was very upset when Andy told her they were done. I watched from the sidelines and tried to get a few pictures. We went to Ingredients for some hot drinks and then went home. Andy fell asleep on the couch and then he went to bed around 11:00 p.m. and I lasted till midnight. It was a wild and crazy New Year's for us!
The next day Briley and I went out with our neighbors to feed their horses. They have a barn not too far from our house and Briley has wanted to go see them for some time. She was very excited about feeding the horses until she actually saw them. They were a little too big for her. She wanted me to feed them and she would give them a real quick pet and then back up. It was pretty funny. She then decided the barn cats and dogs were a little more her size.
The rest of the weekend was spent staying inside and trying to keep warm. It doesn't look like warmer weather is in our near future. We hope everyone had a great New Year's and we are hopeful that 2010 is good to us all!
