Well, much to Autumn’s dismay, we still have no baby and from what her doctor and my dad say, she still has another week or two (I was not suppose to tell her about my dad’s two week prediction) before she pops. Between Briley and spring cleaning tasks around the house, we have plenty to keep us busy while we anxiously await the arrival of Baby Early #2. Autumn has been staying active since her appointment on Thursday in the hopes that she can encourage the process along.

We celebrated Autumn’s 28th Birthday a couple weeks back; we went to dinner at Garozzo’s, which is our favorite Italian restaurant and then much to Briley’s delight, we came home and had some ice cream cake from Dairy Queen for desert. For her birthday gift, Briley and I got her a new wireless stereo system for the house; I figured it was time to upgrade from the radio she has had since high school.

Last weekend my parents, Molly and Caroline came to town for the weekend. My Dad came to help me put trim up in the basement so that we could get the carpet down before the baby came. There were a few choice words during the process of setting doors and hanging trim but we eventually got it done and it looks great. Mom and Dad also treated us to Stroud’s, which is always a treat. It’s kind of funny because it was the same weekend a year ago that they came down (first of four trips in a row) to help us work on the house. Maybe we can just make this an annual work weekend.

This week, I completed the finishing touches on the basement and we had the carpet installed on Friday; we can’t believe it is finally done and we could not be happier with the finished product. We wasted no time in getting all of Briley’s toys out of the dinning room and nursery and down to her new playroom. She played down there all by herself for a couple of hours on Friday night so I think it is safe to say she enjoys the space. I was down there with her for awhile cleaning up and then she shut the door on me so I figured it was alright for me to go upstairs.

Briley got sick in the middle of the night on Friday and it turns out that she has strep throat. She had us up off and on throughout the night; Autumn says she is just preparing us for what’s to come. We have her on some medicine so hopefully she should be able to go back to school on Monday; I guess it was a good thing we did not have the baby this weekend. She spent all day yesterday lying on the couch but today she seems to be back to her normal, perky, bossy self…with a snotty, crusty nose. It stinks that she has not been able to enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having but I am sure she will be out helping me in the yard this afternoon. Well, better go; we will keep you updated on any baby news.
