It is so hard to believe how quickly a year flies by. It really seems like it was just yesterday that he was born! As most of you know Baylor is a Mommy's Boy. If I am around, he expects me to hold him and he can throw quite a fit until he gets it. At times it drives my crazy, but then I see the five year old boys at school who make their Mom's kiss them outside their classroom door so no one will see and I am okay with cuddling with my little man a while longer:) Baylor's birthday was this past Thursday, and as usual I think he is cutting a tooth and was in bed by 6:30. The poor thing has had a fever, drooling, snotty, and not eating much. Those are usually my clue to a tooth, but he wouldn't dare let me look in his mouth. We had his party on Saturday and Andy and I took off Friday to prepare for the big day! His birthday theme was Dr. Seuss and it was so darn cute. There were just so many fun ideas that it was hard for me to decide on what to do, but I narrowed it down somewhat. I really get excited about a good birthday theme and I have to take advantage of the fact that for the next few years, I get to pick out his theme before he starts making me do themes like superheros. Thank you so much to everyone in the family that came! It was amazing to see everyone here and we really appreciated all the help! His party went off without a hitch. We always get a little nervous when feeding 30 people with Jared, Todd, and Asa in the mix because they eat SOOO much, but we had enough food to go around. All of Baylor's cousins helped him open his presents and then it was cake time. I do believe that it was the only time Baylor was truly excited about his party. I don't believe that I have ever seen a one year old so excited about a cake before. He definitely smashed that cake with intensity there was no hesitation. I think he would have eaten the whole thing had I let him. After cake, it was bath time and cleaning up. We had six drink spills throughout the day so our floor was pretty sticky. Andy and I made a trip to Wal-Mart that night after everyone left to get a Shark Steam Mop. We cleaned the house and prepared for party number 2, Baylor's baptism.
