Summer Happenings

It has been awhile since I last posted, mostly due to the fact that our camera broke at Disney and I just hadn't gotten around to buying a new one. One of the big things that has happened this month is Baylor has finally decided that he would walk a little. He has been taking a few steps here and there but he still prefers to crawl. We have noticed over the past few days that he is taking more steps without us making him do it so that is a step in the right direction.
We went home for the Fourth of July and my Dad's birthday which was on the 1st. We took him out to eat, had a little ice cream cake and opened a present. Andy, the kids, and I went on over to Andy's parents because that is where we were staying. Well, sometime around 3:30 a.m. my Dad heard an explosion outside. He woke my Sister up and they looked outside to see my Dad's car on fire. The whole carport at Woodwinds was on fire. It is still under investigation so hopefully they figure out who did it. After the excitement of the fire, the rest of the weekend went well with a party at Andy's parent's house. Viva wore her the pads of her paws off from pacing around the pool. She gets really nervous when the kids and adults are in the pool swimming. She starts barking and whining anytime someone goes under the water. She is a good lifeguard, but could only take a day of the stress. The kids all had fun swimming, shooting off fireworks, and watching a movie under the stars. Briley liked the movie so much that she made them do it two nights in a row. It was good to see everybody and just relax for a few days.
The past two weeks, Andy and I started a project in the kitchen. We are kind of doing a slow remodel with the first step being the cabinets. We just got finished painting the cabinets a rustic white and adding glass to six of the doors. Andy also got all fancy and put in lights underneath the cabinets which really adds a lot of light when I am cooking. We think it turned out great though Andy had a friend drop by the other day and he asked if we were going to repaint the cabinets because they looked a little dirty. Andy tried to explain to him that we were going for rustic and that we were more Potterybarn and he was Ikea.
The biggest news of the week is that the Farwells are having twins!! What a crazy surprise. We are so excited to have two more nieces or nephews. With two sets of twins in the family, Briley keeps wondering when we are going to have two. Andy is scared to death that this might happen to us and said that maybe we should stop at three:)
