Monday was a very big day in the Early household. Andy turned the big 3-0 and as you may know, his birthday is kind of a big deal. I decided to throw Andy a beer tasting party for his birthday this year, and it was so much fun. I had 18 different kinds of ales and lagers for everyone to try out. Each guest got a mason jar so that they could sample a variety of beers. I also made bar type foods and cupcakes. The cupcakes were made by Cody's Cupcakes and they were sooo good. We had stout chocolate cupcakes with irish cream icing and blue moon vanilla cupcakes with orange flavored icing. Andy's family all came and friends from high school, college, work, and neighbors. Andy had a great time catching up with old friends that we hadn't seen in awhile. I think it was probably the best party we may have ever had.
Sunday morning some of Andy's family was still here so we went to Louisburg for their Apple Festival. We got some cider, apple donuts, and lunch before they headed out. We spent the rest of the day cleaning up, taking naps, and then Lissy took our family pictures which I think are going to be pretty cute.
On Monday, Andy requested fried chicken and french silk pie. I was a little burnt out on cooking so I cheated and bought a Tippin's french silk pie so that I would only have to make the chicken, and he seemed to be okay with it. As Andy was blowing out his candles, it dawned on me that it was also Viva's birthday. I can't believe that I almost forgot that they shared a birthday. Since I hadn't made it to the pet store to get a favorite treat, she got a donut and seemed to be okay with it.
