What happened to October?

It is hard to believe that October flew by as quickly as it did. It has been a crazy month for us in the Early household with visitors, parties, soccer games, and the World Series. I often felt like there was never enough time in the day to get everything I needed to get done. One of which was updating our blog. Our computer was six years old and takes me FOREVER to upload pictures, edit, and do a blog post. I typically spend a whole week getting one post ready and I just did not have the time this month. I decided to sit down and begin the long process Saturday morning and complaining about how slow our computer was and Andy suggested we get a new computer for our Christmas present to each other. Sounded perfect! So we loaded the kiddos in the car and headed to Nebraska Furniture Mart. I am now the proud owner of a Mac and can't wait to finally get our blog up and going again. So here goes:
My Mom, Asa, and Kelsey came at the beginning of the month for Grandparent's Day at school. While they were here, we went to the pumpkin patch where we loaded up on 100 pounds of pumpkins.
started playing soccer this year and her season came to an end a few weeks ago. She really did a great job and I think she really enjoyed playing this year for the Green Apples. Watching her play really showed us how much of a leader she is. She definitely had her share with the ball, but she was also so positive and encouraging to her teammates as they played. Yes, I was excited every time she scored a goal, but I was even more so when she cheered on her teammates.

This month I also went on my very first Girl's Weekend without the kids for Caroline's bachelorette party and we had so much fun. It was nice to get away and relax for a little while. I love my kids but it was wonderful to get up in the morning when I wanted to, to sit overlooking the lake and read my book without being interrupted, to not have to revolve the day around naps for the kiddos, and to have a nice long dinner without kids screaming and making a mess all over the floor. Thank you so much Kaitlin for planning this fun trip for all of us. We will have to do it again someday:)
Next up was the World Series. Andy got a ticket for his Christmas present and I do believe it was probably the best gift his parent's have ever given him. He was lucky enough to go to game 6 and see history in the making. I unfortunately could not be there because it was our Fall Festival at school. It wouldn't look good if the director was not there for the party she planned, but it killed me to give up the World Series. It is these moments that I wished I was a stay at home mom and could do what I wanted when I wanted to, but oh well.
Andy got home on Friday and we left for Kirksville. We got there just in time for the beginning of Game 7. The Cardinal's won and we went all out on the celebration with champagne and fireworks. So much fun! The next day was a buy one with hair cuts, Great Grandma came to town, and dress fittings for the wedding. That night we had the Annual Early Halloween Party which Briley loved. Baylor was not so sure of all the people dressed up, but he soon relaxed. The night was filled with good food, friends, and a little Hocus Pocus to cap off the evening.
Monday was Halloween and Briley was soooo excited. She could hardly wait to get home from school and get her costume on. We went around our neighborhood with several people from the cul-de-sac and this was the first year that Briley could really keep up with the older girls. Baylor was content sitting in the wagon and taking a cruise around the neighborhood. He would get out once in awhile to get a piece of candy, but overall he enjoyed observing everything from the wagon.
