Happy Valentine's Day!
A couple of weeks ago we went to Kirksville to watch Asa play basketball and spend some time with family. It had been a few years since I had gotten to watch Asa play and we were determined to get that in this winter. We battled the snow and kids with the stomach flu but we did make it. Briley and Baylor both had a lot of fun watching the game. The next day we got to watch Jackson play which was really entertaining. It is always fun to watch kid's games:)
Last weekend Briley got to bring home a very special guest. Cookie Monster is their classroom guest that gets to visit each families home. You get a disposable camera, clothes to dress him for the appropriate weather with snaps, buttons, and zippers. Briley has been patiently waiting her turn and you would not believe how excited she was when she found out she got him. We took Cookie to the Plaza shopping, to eat some BBQ, watched the MU game, and of course the Super Bowl. We made Cookie Monster cookies and Briley treated him like he was her baby. On Monday morning I went to iron my clothes and as I passed her room she was sitting up in bed. I went in and asked her what was wrong. Big alligator tears came rolling down her cheek as she said, "I don't want to take Cookie back to school because I will never get to have him again." Just about broke my heart.
This weekend her cousins came down and Papa, Grandma, and Molly took them all to Phineas and Ferb. Briley loved it! Later that night we all went bowling which is also a favorite of the kids. We seem to do it once a year this time of year and it is always entertaining. Everyone left early today and I ran my errands, finished up Valentine's gifts, and cleaned the house. Briley and Baylor fell asleep on the couch and slept over three hours. They must have been worn out from all of the fun this weekend. Miss Lissy should be here later on tonight and Briley is so excited to have more company. We hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!
