It has been about two weeks since Briley got her tonsils out and I think she is finally getting back to her usual self. It is really amazing how different it is these days compared to when I got mine out. We went to check her in at 6:30 am and she went in to surgery by 7:40 and we were home by 11:30. Crazy! She was a very brave girl the whole time and gave us each a high five as they wheeled her back to the operating room with a smile on her face. Surgery lasted about thirty minutes and after she was in the recovery room for awhile we were able to go back and see her. Unfortunately for Briley, the pain medication made her sick so we had to wait to leave until she stopped getting sick. After we thought she would be okay we drove home. Andy's parents came to help out, and it was so nice to have them here. Briley took a little nap when she got home and spent the rest of the day watching movies and eating popsicles.
The rest of the week I stayed home with Briley and Baylor, and got so many things done around the house. Baylor is finally out of diapers after an intense week of potty training. He is really doing such a great job staying dry all day and even through the night which is awesome! Briley and Baylor are becoming so independent that it should make things a little easier when Finley arrives.
I also had some organizing on my mind and worked throughout the week on that. I organized our attic and threw out a bunch of things, cleaned and organized the kitchen cabinets, finished everything I needed to finish for Finley's arrival, and we cleaned the play room to make room for Baylor's train table. Andy has also been busy nesting as well. He put new closet doors in Briley's room, organized the garage with new shelves by using the old closet doors from Briley's room, and he began landscaping the side of our house that is left.
Briley got a lot of fun gifts while she was recuperating and we did a lot to keep her and Baylor occupied. We made bracelets, potholders, read The Boxcar Children, watched new movies, colored, painted, and had an ice cream picnic outside. She also got a really cool Wonder Woman cup that she insisted on using the whole week to drink her water out of:) My Mom came on Monday so Briley and Baylor had a few more days at home before returning to school which was nice.
Briley is now back to her normal self minus the snoring:) Andy and I were laughing the other night as we laid in bed and could only hear Baylor sawing logs down the hall. I'm sure he will be in Briley's shoes in a few years too.
This weekend Briley went to the Lake of the Ozarks with her friend from Kindergarten and her Grandparents. Her Grandparents have a house boat down there and wanted Briley to come along. Andy and I have been so nervous about this trip even though she will really be gone for a little over twenty four hours. It's the first time she has gone anywhere with someone other than family, but she seems to be having a great time. They keep sending us pictures of them with big smiles on their faces. Baylor has been missing her and really didn't understand why he didn't get invited to come along.

Baylor felt he needed all the treats that Briley got.

Isn't this what you wear when you have a tea party?
