Welcome to the World Miss Finley Grace!

My last doctor's appointment was on August 15th and my doctor decided to induce me on Monday the 19th because he was going out of town on Tuesday.  They called the hospital to set it up and to my dismay they were booked already with five inductions:(  My doctor then decided that he would induce me on Thursday night when he got back into town, and he would just stay at the hospital that night.  How nice is that when he would have been traveling all day?
On Tuesday I was not feeling that great at school, and even worse after I sat through Briley's soccer practice that night.  I called work and told them that I would not make it to work on Wednesday because I was pretty sure Finley was coming.  It is funny that all of our kids have been born on a Wednesday.  I debated on having my Mom come down that night because I really thought Finley was coming soon, but I didn't.  I pretty much spent the evening laying in bed and Andy changed the sheets on all the beds and took care of the kids so I could just relax and I was so thankful.  I'll admit I was a little emotional.  I had one successful v-back but I worried about having another one without my doctor.  I was afraid someone else would not want to take the risk because I wasn't their patient.
About 1:00am  I woke up to contractions.  I laid in bed until about 2:30 and then I came downstairs and  surfed the internet for awhile and timed my contractions.  I held out until about 4:00am and then I decided that I couldn't wait any longer.  I started a shower and Andy immediately came in to ask if I was okay.  I told him it was time to get ready to go to the hospital and he started making the phone calls.  We called our neighbors to watch the kids, and then we were off.  By this time the contractions were really starting to get pretty intense, and by the time we got to the hospital and settled in our room, I was having contractions every minute, dialated to a 6, and 100% effaced.  I may have waited a little too long, but I hated waking everyone up.
As usual I had issues with my IV and it took forever until I had had enough fluids to get an epidural.  When I could finally get it they were not able to give me the regular strength because I had really low blood pressure and he said I would start getting sick.  Unfortunately the epidural did not fully kick in until I was a 9 1/2.  Since my doctor was out of town Dr. Blevins delivered Finley and I was completely comfortable with her.  She had done a couple of my prenatal appointments when my doctor was delivering babies so I had already met her and we had already discussed my v-back.  I had given two pushes and then they told me to sit still until the doctor got there.  Two more quick pushes and Finley Grace was born at 11:29am.  Everything went so smoothly!
Finley weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and she was 19 and 3/4 inches tall.   It was truly love at first sight for Andy and I.
After a little bonding time, Andy went out to get everyone and brought Briley and Baylor in to meet their new baby sister.  Briley of course was excited, but Baylor was not so sure about it all.  I think he was scared to see me in the bed.  Andy's parents, my Mom, Lissy, Kaitlin, Owen, and Lola stayed for a little bit and then they were all off.  Andy went to get some lunch and Finley was taken to get her first bath.  When Andy came back he kept looking at her and saying she was so beautiful...and she really is:)
We went home on Thursday afternoon and on our way we picked Briley up at school which excited her.  It was so nice to be home!  My Mom stayed for a few days to help out which was great.  The Farwells,  Andy's parents, Asa, and Kelsey came that weekend to meet Finley.  The Sedlaks and Lissy came on Monday.  THANK YOU to everyone who provided dinner for us this past week.  It was all truly amazing!
Andy went back to work on Wednesday and Finley and I had the house to ourselves for awhile.  It is nice to get back into our routine and Finley has been so easy!  She has been getting up once or twice a night which has been awesome.  Last night I fed her at 10pm and she did not wake up again until 3:30 am.  I had to actually wake her up in the morning to take Briley to school.  I love a baby who will sleep!
Overall, we are doing great and enjoying this precious little addition to our family.  She fits in perfectly and we are counting our blessings.
