Springtime Fun

April has completely flown by in a blink of an eye!  I don't even know where to begin with this post because it has been such a busy month so I guess we will start at the beginning and work on down.  Soccer started earlier this month and so our days have been filled with games and practice.  Briley still has one more practice and two more games left before the end of the season and that is good news for me because softball starts this Saturday.  This was the only week that it would all overlap and the rain has canceled softball for tonight.
My Dad and Asa came the first week of April to go to a Royal's game and then spend the night at our house.  It was a beautiful weekend and we got to spend a lot of time outside enjoying the weather.  We haven't had too many of those weekends yet this spring.  Briley also had a couple of soccer games thrown into the mix.
The following weekend we had a birthday party weekend.  Briley and Baylor both had parties on Saturday and one on Sunday which kept us on the go.  It was Baylor's first birthday party that he has gone to where he detached from my leg and played.  He was so excited to be at his friend's house that he took off as soon as we made it in the back yard.  I took advantage and went to buy stuff for Briley's upcoming party.  That afternoon was the Daddy Daughter Dance and Briley was pretty excited about it.  Baylor, Finley, and I went to Winstead's for shakes and chicken nuggets at Baylor's request.
The next weekend we went home for Easter and we also celebrated Briley's birthday party.  It was great to spend time with our families and even had a moment to sneak off to enjoy lunch with friends.  The whole weekend was gorgeous, and  I think it was one of the few times that we got to enjoy one of Briley's birthdays outside.  The next morning we went to Church, had brunch, Easter egg hunt, and lunch before going home.  Finley and I were so close to scoring the Golden egg, but Lissy ended up with it in the end.  Maybe next year.
This past week marked the end of my career at Goddard.  I kept thinking all week that I would be sad about leaving, but I think I was just too excited to be staying home with the kids that I couldn't get sad.  It also helped that two mornings I woke up with texts from people telling me that they weren't coming in.  I won't be sad about getting those anymore although my replacement is dreading that part of the job.  I had hoped my last day would be stress free and that I would be able to coast through it, but we had two call ins that morning and hardly a moment to sit down.  The staff did have a wonderful lunch in honor of my last day and it was delicious.  There are some that I will miss that I work with, but I know we will meet up from time to time.
Briley's birthday extravaganza was also my last day of work.  She requested balloons in her room when she woke up, pancakes for breakfast, and waffles for dinner.  We ended up playing outside all evening and so waffles became going out for frozen yogurt.  She opened her presents and seemed excited about everything except for her big present.  We got her a new bike and she was upset because she thought it was too big.  She wanted to ride her old bike and thats when she saw that it was gone.  I traded her old bike in for the new one:/  There were a few tears and pouting.
The next morning she had a better attitude and decided to give the new bike a chance and she has barely gotten off of it since.  I think she was just scared because it was bigger.  I don't know what the deal is with our kids and getting big gifts.  She was more excited about her big coleman thermos than she was about a new bike.
Sunday we had her friends party which is the first time we have attempted that.  My Mom came up to help and I'm glad she did.  We had her party at the local Blue Valley Rec center and it started at 2:30. We were able to get into the party room at 2:15 so we had to do some pretty quick decorating!  Mom and I got all the decorations and food out just as the girls started coming in.  I had beach balls for them to decorate and sign each others balls, eating cake, and a little Teen Beach Movie singing before they were whisked away to the pool.  They played in the pool for an hour and then it was done.  Briley ended up having about 8 girls and I think she really enjoyed it.

Worn out from a day full of fun:)

Briley's first musical at school

I love her old lady without teeth smile.

I love these two pictures of Andy.  He looks like he isn't interested at all...and then he is going to charge at anyone in his way.

The best we could do for a family picture.

Loving her new necklace Taylors

Finally enjoying her new bike.
