Summer is in Full Swing

Andy and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on the 18th.  Andy completely surprised me because we had bought Zak Brown Band tickets for September so I really wasn't planning on us doing much for our anniversary.  I had plans of making fried chicken and a strawberry pie, but when I got up that morning Andy had my favorite Trader Joe croissants sitting on the counter with flowers and a note saying to be ready to go out at 7:00.  He had gotten a babysitter and we were heading to 801 Chophouse for dinner.  I just have to say, their steak is right up there as a favorite.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it right now.  After we ate, we stopped at Pacuigo for a little gelato and got home just as the kids had gone to bed.  It was a perfect anniversary.
The kids and I have been busy these last few weeks.  We went to the blueberry patch where Baylor picked four and said he was done, Crown Center, Union Station, Deanna Rose, Jazz in the Woods race, and the pool.  Briley also had Kampout last week and loved it!  We also had a visit from Lissy, which the kids loved having her here to spoil them.  June has flown by and it is hard to believe that July is here.  In a blink of an eye school will be starting.

 Kaleidoscope and Crown Center Day

Picking Finley's favorite fruit.  She loves her blueberries!

Briley as the catcher is pretty entertaining to watch.

Briley and I ran our first race a few weeks ago, and she loved it.  She wears her medal everywhere she goes.

This is the first time he has been brave enough to feed the goats.

Andy has been crazy busy at work lately and traveling on a weekly basis.  Last night he was on his way home from LA and he had a pretty eventful flight.  They ran into a storm in the Rocky Mountains and they didn't have enough gas to go around the storm so they had to go above it.  He said they flew 9,000 feet higher than a plane usually goes.
He took this picture as they were coming into Kansas City.  There were a lot of storms here too, and he said it was a really scary landing.  He and his boss were holding on for dear life as the plane landed.  He said they then had to wait on the tarmac because of the lightening and rain.  No one could  be out there to guide them.  I'm just glad he got home safely.
