We celebrate our Christmas at home on Christmas Eve morning every year. The night before our Christmas is an annual trip out to eat at Stroud's. This year we were able to eat at the Stroud's that opened up just down the street from our house which was convenient and just as delicious!
After dinner we came home and the kids iced their cookies for Santa, and then we opened a couple of presents. They each got a set of pajamas and then they opened up their gifts to each other. Andy also let me open my present that night so that I could use it on Christmas morning. It was a camera and I am so excited to have it. I now just need to learn how to use it. After I got the kids all settled into bed and we read the Christmas Story and T'was the Night Before Christmas, I went to Wal-Mart to buy a memory card, batteries, and last minute stocking stuffers.
I came home and Santa was busy in the basement writing a letter, and working on Baylor's Hot Wheel Track. We got everything set up and went up to bed because we knew the kids would be up early.
At 5:00a.m., Briley and Baylor were in our room ready to get up. We held them off till about 6:00 and then we woke Finley up and the fun began.
Baylor got his race track, a camera, a couple of books, a Blue River sweatshirt, and a Zingo game. Baylor has already ran the batteries out of his camera and I think he has taken about 500 pictures.
Briley got a secret password diary, Blue River shirt, books, a pogo stick, and a week stay at Kanakuk this summer. She wasn't so sure about Kamp until Andy started showing her a video of all she would be doing. I think she is pretty pumped about it now, and I know she will love it when she goes. Kamp is right up her alley and I think she will take a lot from it.
Finley got a stroller for her doll, baby accessories so that hopefully she will play with that while I am taking care of the new baby, books, a sweet little stocking cap, and a ball popper since the one we got Briley when she was a baby broke.
After our yearly breakfast in the dining room, we let the kids play a little while we began packing up to head home. It was a picture perfect Christmas that always seems to go so quickly after months of planning.
