So a few weeks ago Andy said he had three deals in Tampa, and so on a Monday we booked plane tickets to Tampa for that Wednesday. I hate that Andy travels, but the benefit of being able to travel for free any where he goes is nice. My Mom came to watch Briley, Baylor, and Finley while Andy and I took Atticus with us. We landed in Tampa at around 10 in the morning, stopped to look at a property for work, and were eating on the beach at 12. We went to Pass a Grille, which was suggested to us by Caroline. It was not crowded at all, and the water was surprisingly warm. Atticus took a little nap while we just relaxed and soaked up the warm sunshine.
We met Caroline and Jared at their apartment later that afternoon, got cleaned up, and they took us out to eat. Caroline and I ordered margaritas which is one of my cravings while I'm pregnant, and this was probably the best I have ever had. They make them fresh with real limes. The food was also very good too.
The next day Andy left early to look at some more properties while I read a book on Caroline and Jared's patio. Andy came by to get me for lunch and I went with him to his last property. We had hoped to do something that afternoon, but that work thing got in the way so we just drove around Tampa to see the sights. We checked out the port where a cruise ship was about to depart, headed over to Highland Park to look at some super cute houses, and drove through the cuban community of Ybor City. We got back to Jared and Caroline's and went out to eat at a place Andy and I had been kind of craving since our last visit to Tampa. It is just a little taco shop, but they are really good and cheap.
The next morning we said our goodbyes and were back in Kansas City by 11:30. I made some real quick May Day baskets for the kids to take around that afternoon after school, and then Andy and I went to see the much anticipated Billy Joel concert! Caroline was making fun of us for going to a concert for "old people", but I can tell you we were not the only young ones in the crowd. This concert ranks up there with Garth Brooks. There are just certain music legends that are amazing to say you saw them play first hand. He could still hit all of the notes, and to hear him play Piano Man gave us goose bumps. I made Andy video tape it. He was not only good at playing, but a funny guy to listen too. He would give the crowd a choice between one song or another, and that is what he would play. To have so many hits that you have this option is pretty impressive. He also played "The Longest Time" and that is a song that I love, but he rarely plays it at his concerts. I'm glad we got to hear it. Amazing night! P.S. I will be doing a name that singer game on vacation this year for those that need to learn the music legends:)
After our whirlwind of fun, we have been busy with soccer, softball, and baseball. Soccer ended for Briley and I think we are relieved. Her team did not win a game this spring, and it was hard for Andy to take. I think it is getting to a point where the coach is out of his element, and it is starting to show. He is a very nice guy, but soccer is not a priority for him this year. about it. I'm hoping next year gets a little better or we may have to come up with another option. Softball however is going great. She has a really good little team, and we really have fun watching her games. Baylor has two more soccer games to go, and he just started baseball practice. I think he is enjoying both.
This past week our Church celebrated Mary by doing a May Crowning. The second graders were the ones that were to take the flowers up to the alter and crown Mary. They chose one boy and one girl to do the crowning and Briley got chosen. This was a blessing because I had gotten an email from them to wear their First Communion dresses or another fancy dress. We got to Church and no one had followed that email:/ As you can imagine, I got the stink eye as she came into Church with her class. The good news is it pays off to dress up because she got to do the crowning.
Mother's Day was this Sunday and we were going to go to brunch after Church this year. Briley was really upset about this because she likes giving me breakfast in bed, so thats what we did instead. The kids got up and went to Starbucks to get my coffee and I got a chocolate croissant. We went to Church after breakfast and then Andy cleaned out my car. After I got home from the grocery store we went out to dinner early that night at Nick and Jake's. It is a good place for us because they bring out grapes and cheez-its for the kids while you wait for your food, and Briley is happy because they have PB&J on the kids menu. After dinner, Briley and I went for a run to finish the night. It was a wonderful day.

Fun in the Sun
First plane ride.
First baseball practice. Only Cards fan.
These two make me smile every night when I come in to turn out the light.
Happy May Day!
Favorite spot for watching tv
Just reading a little story to Atticus while I fold the laundry.
Briley and Baylor filled out questions about me for Mother's Day.
