Thursday was "Take your child to work day," and Briley was so excited that Andy agreed to let her tag along with him. She has wanted to do this every year, but Andy seemed to always be traveling on this day. She learned how to shoot rubberbands, and I think that was the highlight of her day. She came home with a backpack full of rubberbands, cookies, and a rice krispie treat. I told her to please tell her teacher that she did more than shoot rubberbands:)
Atticus also went to the doctor on Thursday, and he weighs in at 11 pounds 11 ounces and is 23inches tall. He is in the 50th percentile so I'm happy about that. He also got shots, and he completely broke my heart for the rest of the day. He had a constant whine that did not stop. He didn't cry, just whined which was almost worse. I videotaped it because I have never had a child do that before.
Saturday was the big day in the life of Briley. She was officially eight years old. To kick off the day we had soccer in the rain, and then went to Mi Ranchito for lunch because she really wanted them to sing to her. After that, we prepared for a wild and crazy night of four girls coming over.
They made their own pizzas for dinner, and then were whisked away to the movies to see Home. I brought Capri Sun's in my purse, and bought a big bucket of popcorn with additional cups to split it up among them. The movie was super cute if you get the chance to go. I had one begin to cry at a sad part, but I was prepared because she cries at every movie. I think the girls enjoyed it.
After the movie, we went back for cake. I had bought pillow cases for them to decorate and sign each others since it was a sleepover party. The project took all of about five minutes, and then they went crazy! They snatched the pennants off of the centerpiece, and decided to play capture the flag throughout the house. I mean they were in our closets, under the beds, in the bathrooms. It was the longest 20 minutes of my life before two of them went home, and the two that stayed the night were the mellow ones in the group. Andy and I got them all set up in the basement with a movie, and they passed out.
We made it through the first sleep over and I think they all really had a great time. There were a few tears here and there, but overall the group was great. I'm definitely going to have to plan more activities for the next round though.
