This past weekend we went home to celebrate Finley's birthday with family. Her birthday was Friday, and Andy and I filled her room with balloons. She was so excited when Briley and I came to get her singing "Happy Birthday." Andy took a half day and met us at Slim Chicken for lunch, and then we went home and played outside for awhile before naps.
We picked Briley up from school later that day to head to Kirksville. We ate lasagna when we got to Andy's parent's. He was so excited! The kids ended up swimming for a little bit, and then the two older kids went to the Farwell's for a sleepover.
On Saturday I was busy getting things ready for the party. Lissy, Finley, and I went to Wal-Mart to buy some things. Lissy took off in a cart with Finley to find snacks, while I picked up things for dinner. I wish I would have caught Finley picking out all her snacks. I think she was in heaven, and it was by far the best present.
The kids swam all afternoon while I was busy setting everything up, and then the party came. We had a flamingo themed party, and it was so much fun to do! I'm taking advantage of the fact that she doesn't have an opinion about her parties yet. It all turned out cute, and I think she really enjoyed her party more than her first birthday. We had fried chicken, sides, cake, and homemade ice cream. I had Wal-Mart do the cake which turned out cute. Only $12.00! You can't beat that price. We finished the evening watching Home. Perfect evening!

Finley Turns 2!
Face timing with the Taylor's
We almost forgot about the most important part of a birthday, the presents. All though I don't think she really cared about opening them.
Finley Shenanigan's
Oh my this little girl has brought so much joy to our our lives in these short two years. She keeps me on my toes all day long. She is independent, and would prefer I ignore her while she does her own thing. She knows what she wants, and is persistent until she gets it. I can't wait until her teen years;) She's a girly girl right now, and loves to play with her dolls and kitchen. She is also the first of our kids that enjoys coloring. She would color everything in the house if I let her. We have to keep those permanent marker put away. She also loves a good book. She wants to be read to all day long. Her favorite books right now are From Head to Toe, Pete's Pizza, Moo Baa Lalala, Happy Valentine's Day Mouse, and Happy Easter Mouse. She also loves singing and dancing. She sings "The Wheels on the Bus" each day when Briley gets on the bus, "Old Miss Charlotte had a Farm", and "Happy Birthday". She loves her siblings. She gets so excited when her brother and sister get home from school each day, and so sad when I drop them off at practice in the evening. She loves her Daddy more than words can say. She is a caretaker like her older sister. She loves to take care of Atticus. She has a strong attachment to her paci, blankie, and stuffed animals like someone else I know. She loves her snacks and a fun pair of shoes.
