Shortly after getting home from New York, we packed up the car to go back to Kirksville for Molly's graduation. We decided to go home on Saturday so Andy could get the yard mowed on Friday before we left. We got back to Kirksville in time to eat lunch, we dropped Finley and Atticus off for naps at my Mom's, and then we went to the ceremony. It looked like rain so Andy brought the umbrella along with us. As the ceremony began, we saw lightening in the distance. One by one Andy's family began to head for shelter. Just as the speaker began, the rain came pouring down. We were stuck in our seats because the woman in front of us was using our umbrella for shelter too. Finally is slowed down, and we were able to make our exit. It was the shortest ceremony I have ever been to.
When we got back to the house, Andy's parent's received a pot of gold to go to Ireland this fall. It was a celebration that they got all eight children through college!
That evening Andy's parents had dinner out at the pool while the kids got to swim. We watched the Derby and drank some yummy mint juleps that Zane made. After awhile I took Finley and Atticus in for baths along with Lola. As I was getting the kids out of the bath I heard Andy scream as he ran through the house to get his Dad's stethoscope saying that Grayson had drowned. I took Finley, Atticus, Briley, Baylor, and Ellie into our bedroom so that they were out of the way. We said a prayer, and then I tried to act normal and have the kids get their pjs on. After I heard that he was ok, I let the kids check out the police cars, fire truck, and ambulance out of Andy's parents window. So thankful that everything turned out okay. I am so proud of the Ellie, Carson, Briley, and Bella for knowing what to do. They saved Grayson's life.

End of another school year.
The next day we went to Church, made our rounds, and then made our way back to Overland Park. Andy went to get take out for dinner, and that about sums up my Mother's Day. Andy had given me a small cross body purse that I had been looking for to take on our trip so I got that early, and the kids made me a canvas with their handprints that my Mom helped them with while we were gone. Baylor also made a handprint that he made with clay. His teacher is on maternity leave, and his substitute is the old art teacher that retired a couple of years ago. She has had them in the art room a lot, which I love getting cute projects.
This past weekend Baylor had soccer while Briley had softball. I took her to her game, and Andy went to Baylor's Baylor did get his medal for the season, and that always makes him excited. Andy's parents came for the games so they went to his for a little bit and then Briley's. We went to eat lunch at Grimaldi's afterwards. His parent's left earlier than we expected so we went over to our neighbor's house for a graduation party for their son. After that we went home, and just enjoyed the day outside in the back yard.
Atticus has really started to move a lot more. He gets so excited when he starts walking towards you, and it just make me smile. He also has been singing happy birthday to you. I guess with all the birthdays we have had lately that seems to be the song that stuck with him.
The school year came to a close, and I have been busy getting teacher gifts ready, and we have been attending all the year end events. Baylor had a field trip to Deanna Rose, Briley had a sip and see to see all things she has been working on, and the year end parties. Briley was recognized for her service hours that she did this year. She was pretty excited to get a letter from the President. She got the bronze this year for doing 29 hours, and she would like to try for silver next year. We will see if we can make that happen.
We also went to Baylor's preschool graduation this week. He has been in Mrs. Donaldson's preschool room for 3 1/2 years, and I think he might be a little excited to be going to kindergarten. We won't really be saying good bye though because Finley starts in her class next year.
We picked Briley up on the last day of school. Hard to believe she is going to be a fourth grader next year! To celebrate the last day we went for frozen yogurt. Such a good year for her with a great teacher.
That night we had the neighbors over for an end of the year movie night. It was a perfect kickoff to our summer adventures.
