Happy Father's Day and Anniversary

A couple of weeks ago Andy got tickets for us to go to a Royals game, and the kids were so excited.  Drove me crazy all day asking how much longer it was until the game.  They were club seats so the kids were excited for all the food and treats.  They were playing the Houston Astros, and it was a slow game with not many hits.  In the eighth inning the score was 1-1 and we decided to go since it was a Thursday night.  I'm glad we did because they lost 7-1 in overtime.

Andy's parents came into town on Friday for a weekend of baseball/softball games.  We had Briley's game Friday night and they won.  It was a beautiful night at the park, and the moon was so pretty as we were walking out.  We ended the evening with a trip to Twister's for some custard.  Baylor's game was Saturday morning, and then we went to Rye for lunch.  This is a favorite or ours, and we finally got to take his parents.  After lunch they took Briley and left for Kirksville for a week of basketball camp.
Saturday night was the neighborhood pool party.  We had been kind of dreading it, but we ended up having a good time.   We met quite a few families, and the kids made some friends too.
Andy was out of town on Monday to Chicago, but he got back on Tuesday evening.  Wednesday was a baseball game for Baylor, and then I had book club.
Briley got back home on Thursday with my Mom.  She seemed to have had a good time at basketball camp, and spending time with her grandparents and cousins.  I don't think she was ready to come home.  She had a game Thursday night.
Saturday we went to the zoo for the morning before it got too hot.  We were able to do the train, tram, merry go round, and sky tram.  The only thing we didn't make it to that Briley was upset about was the orangutans.  That night Andy and I celebrated our anniversary by going to Manifesto for drinks and then to The Rieger for dinner.   I have been wanting to do this for years!  Manifesto is a speakeasy in the basement of what used to be the Reiger Hotel.  It was used by the mob during prohibition, and was often frequented by Al Capone.  It was  a fun little spot with really good drinks.  The Rieger was a nice little restaurant with good food at decent prices, and appreciate that after our 801 Chophouse fiasco last year.  We really enjoyed a night out, and we were home early since Andy had traveled that week so he was tired.
Saturday was hot so it was a day at the pool for us, and then off to another softball game that was miserable to sit through.  After we were done we got drive thru and went home to cool off.
Sunday was Father's Day and our Anniversary.  Andy worked on building a space for all the toys in the garage and the kids played with their new slip n slide that my Mom got them.  That night I made Andy fried chicken and I bought him a banana cream pie.

Hard to tell but the riding toys all have their own space.

Last week was Baylor's final week of summer school!  It is so nice that the kids will not have to rush around in the morning to get him to school each day.  While he was at school one day I took the others to the blueberry patch.  He isn't the biggest fan so it wasn't something that would upset him.  Atticus was eating them so fast it was hard to fill a bucket, but we did our best.  The highlight is always stopping in their bakery for some treats after we are done picking.

Briley is such a good blueberry picker;)
Since Baylor was done on Thursday, we celebrated on Friday by going to John's Space Age Donuts and then on to Antioch Park to play.  It was a beautiful morning to be outside.

Everyone made it across with no falls into the lake.  I think Baylor and Finley had a few close ones, but they made it.

Over the weekend we had four baseball/softball games.  It was the last game we get to see because his last two are the weekend that we will be in Tampa.  I failed to take my good camera to get pictures because I didn't realize it was his last game.  He had so much fun playing this year!

We finished the weekend with hot fudge sundaes.  Atticus thoroughly enjoyed his;)
