Summer Fun

Last week we wrapped up our softball and baseball season.  Briley's last game was over 100 degrees so we were excited to see the season come to an end.
The kids also participated in Totus Tuus at our Church.  I thought it would be good for Baylor since he has First Communion this year to really dive in deeper into the Catholic faith.  Both of the kids were not a big fan of going, and said it wasn't as fun as VBS so I don't know if we will do it again.   I think it was much more serious, and not as much fun and games.
Friday evening was spent at the pool hanging out with our neighbors.  Briley had a slumber party for her friend Emily's birthday.
The next day we got stuff done around the house and went to the pool for awhile before heading out to dinner with some friends.  Briley was asked to the Imagine Dragons concert with her friend Ainsley.  Her Dad had an extra suite ticket from his company so she got to go.  I have to say I was a little jealous.  It was her first concert, and I was glad the dad she was with took pictures for us.  She had a blast, and we have been listening to nothing but Imagine Dragons since.
My Mom came to town on Monday to watch the kids Tuesday while I took Briley to her swim champs.  The meet started at 7:00 in the morning and didn't get done until about 2 :30.  I hated to drag the kids there for the whole time so I was glad my Mom could watch them.  It was a long day but the weather really was perfect with clouds, and temperatures in the 80's. Glad swim is done, and now we have the next few weeks off of sports.
Wednesday morning we went to Crown Center for the morning.  The kids love going to Kaleidoscope, and then it was lunch at Fritz's.  After we were done with that fun, we stopped by their new exhibit on the 50 states.  A lot of fun interactive things to do revolving around the highlights of each state.
The rest of the week was spent packing for Kamp.  Baylor has been so excited, and informs me each morning when he gets up how much longer he has until Kamp.  He has been so incredibly excited to go.  That night we went to the pool for a little bit, and then grabbed some Dairy Queen.
The kids were up early Saturday ready to go, but we had until 11:00 before we needed to leave.  We did all the last minute packing, stopped by Wendy's for lunch, and then we were off.  We made it to Kamp about 2:15 or so.  Baylor got barn 2 (Wolfpack), and Briley got barn 11 along with Ellie!  They were so happy to be together again, and I was too.  They will have so much fun over the week.  Baylor was not nervous at all which surprised Andy and I.  I think he loved the freedom he was getting at Kamp, and spent time just wandering around.  I can't wait to hear his stories when we pick him up on Friday.  We said goodbye to him while he ate his fourth snow cone, and then stopped to have dinner with the Cleavers and Farwells.  The dinner was good, and we enjoyed catching up with everyone before driving back home.  Finley whined the whole time about how much she missed Baylor, and repeatedly asked when she could go to Kamp on the way home.
Lissy came to town on Sunday to do some pictures, and I took her to two spots that I have been wanting her to try out for pictures.  I say this everytime she does pictures, but I think these are my favorite.  I really can't wait to get them put up on the wall.  I feel like I have not been as good about getting pictures of Finley and Atticus like I did with Baylor and Briley, and I really wanted to get some of Finley before she starts losing her teeth. She also took pictures of the Turners so we all went along to see them.  It has been a long time since we have ran into each other so it was nice to chat for a little bit.  We also had Andy's Aunt Pat over one night for wine and dessert before Lissy headed out of town.
The last part of the week was swimming at the J.  Finley was finally brave enough to go on the lily pads, and she is so proud of herself.  We also spent a nice morning at the park to finish off the week before heading to pick up the other kids

Getting those toes Kickapoo ready.

This hawk has been sitting on our deck lately.
