October Happenings

October has been full of fun, and a lot of rain.  We had the school carnival which is always a big hit on the first weekend of the month.  We were supposed to be in Kirksville, but plans changed because of rain.  Baylor was excited we got to go to the carnival although it was crowded because they had it inside due to the rain.
Having four kids in four schools this year has been a bit of a challenge for me in keeping all of their schedules straight.  Even though I should have three mornings a week to myself to get things done, it rarely happens.  Finley had Columbus day off so we had a girls day.  She gets so excited about these mornings. She wanted to go to The Shack for breakfast so that is what we did, and then on to the grocery store.
The booing season is in full swing at our house. We have people ringing our doorbells and leaving bags of candy every night when school is out.  The kids actually spent the other day practicing how quickly they can get out the door to catch them.  In the beginning Baylor just camped out in the dining room so he could be ready to get out of the door.  One package we got actually had candy for kids and little booze bottles for us.  We could use a few more like that.
Last weekend we had Andy's parents come into town.  They were here for the Ed Sheeran concert that Saturday night.  We first had Baylor's soccer game, and he wore the wrong jersey so he spent the game as goalie.  He did have a great save that he is still talking about.
That night we bundled up to go to the concert at Arrowhead.  It was cold, but not terrible.  He had two opening acts that were Lauv and Snow Patrol.  Lauv sings the song "I Like Me Better When I'm With You."  We didn't know who they were until they opened with that song.  Ed Sheeran came on about 9:00, and he was amazing.  Truly such a likable guy, and I could listen to him chat all day with that accent.  He sang our favorite song Nancy Mulligan so I was happy about that.  I think the next time he is here we will have to take Briley and Baylor.  I know they would love seeing him.
The leaves have been falling like crazy and the kids have loved being out playing in them.  Finley likes to practice her flower girl skills by dropping them on the sidewalk.  I know the bagging of leaves is not fun, but I do love how beautiful our neighborhood is in the fall.
Andy has been traveling a lot lately.  He was in Minnesota two weeks ago, and then he was in Texas and California this week.  He stayed in such a cool resort in Santa Cruz that has me a little jealous.  I really hate it when he is out having fun in that California sun.
He got home on Friday, and we went to Night of the Living Farm.  Briley decided to go to her friends house to boo people so it was just the five of us.  It was a beautiful night, and not crowded at all.  We walked around and did all the activities, and then headed home for hot chocolate.  Baylor ended up getting sick in the middle of the night, and was sick all the next day.  He started to feel a little better by Sunday.
Saturday night was our neighborhood fall festival.  It is always fun to hang out with the neighbors, and the BBQ and chili contests is always pretty intense.  We had planned to do a movie night, but it was too windy for Andy to set up the screen, and honestly the kids were having fun without it.  We kept Baylor at home, and taught him how to call us from his Alexa.  He slept the whole time we were gone.  Andy went and checked on him in the middle of the party, but he was completely out.    Now that he know how to call us from his Alexa, he calls us all the time.

The kids set up our camera to catch people booing us.  They usually don't turn out because people come at night and the picture don't turn out, but this one was during the day.  I love Viva's nose in it.

Not going to look on the scary hay ride.

My attempt to get a picture of these three...
