Happy Birthday Andy!

The past few weekends have been all about art fairs for us.  We took the kids down to the Hallmarket a couple of weekends ago.  This is a very cool art fair because it is made up of all Hallmark employees.  So many talented artists obviously, and their art was very reasonably priced.  I'm still thinking about a painting that we should have gotten for our living room. I'm terrible at buying things on the spot, but I got his card so I know where to go if I decide to get it.  One of my friends from book club had a booth there which is the main reason I went down.  She designs a lot of the wrapping paper, gift bags, etc.  Her prints were very cute so I bought two.  One for Briley's room, and one for the kids bathroom.
After we walked around that, we took the kids to one of our old favorite places to eat from when we were first married, and living down on the plaza.  The Westport Flea Market was just as good as I remember.  They have I think the best hamburgers in Kansas City.  After lunch we headed back home to get Briley ready for her soccer game.
The next weekend Briley went to the BVN homecoming game on Friday night with her friends.  She was so excited about going, and had a blast there. Not much football was watched, but that is usually how it goes for this age.
Saturday was a soccer game, and then we went to pick out a new ceiling fan for our room.  Atticus broke ours by pulling the cord out of it.  Later that afternoon Andy took Baylor and Briley to the BVSW soccer game because they were nationally ranked so Baylor's team mates went to watch them.    That evening was the Plaza Art Fair.  This time we decided to make it a date night.  We took an Uber down so we wouldn't have to worry about parking.  We walked around a bit, and got our steak sandwiches from Capitol Grill to eat.  One of the best parts of the art fair is the food.  We ran into our neighbors so we chatted with them for a bit, and then walked around to look at the art.  Again, I found two artists that really stuck out to me.  One had these really cool photographs that were printed with gold leaf so they had a cool sepia shimmer to them.  The other one had black and white photographs  of places we have been, and place we dream of going to.  We ended the night by stopping at the Rye booth for pie, and then catching an Uber home.  Such a fun night out.
Sunday night we had the Frank, Lucy, and Delaney over for dinner.  Delaney is a cutie pie, and in the middle of being a little colicky.  We took turns taking her outside to walk her around.  I was exhausted for them.
Wednesday was the big day, Andy and Viva's birthday!  We had the usual birthday meal of fried chicken, apples, rolls, corn, and mashed potatoes.  He wanted bread pudding so we made that too, although Finley had a meltdown about it.  Why would he want bread pudding for his birthday?  Viva got a cupcake from the dog bakery, and she was pleased with that.  He got new black dress shoes, Chiefs socks, and a solar phone charger as his gifts. Briley was not impressed, but that is what he needed. Finley and Atticus also made cards for him, and they worked all day doing that and then wrapping them.

My helper in the kitchen who loves getting his picture taken.
