All Aboard the Polar Express!

My Dad came into town this past weekend to surprise the kids with a trip on the Polar Express.  The kids got up Saturday morning to find our elf holding a Polar Express ticket, I put in the advent house a slip of paper saying, "hot hot ooh hot chocolate." and there was four presents under the tree.  When everyone was up we let them open their gifts which contained their Christmas pajamas.  They were giddy all day for their ride to the north pole.

I made a typical Autumn move, and thought we had tickets for 6:00 and it said to get there an hour early because there was a festival going on in the town we were going to.  Turns out our tickets were for 6:45 so we were an hour and forty five minutes early.  Andy was super happy with me.  Oh well, better to be early than late I think.  The best part of the ride was seeing how excited Finley was about it all.  She is our child who gets so happy and giddy with everything.  She is going to completely give it 100% whether it is singing along with the elves, dancing in the aisles, or anticipating the first gift of Christmas from Santa.  They pulled her up to be a reindeer, she answered their trivia questions, she was loving every minute.  Atticus was a little more cautious about it all.  He was excited, but reserved.  Just taking it all in.
I didn't know what Dad would think of all the acting, dancing, having magic sprinkles on his head, but he played along.  Didn't sing of course, but he smiled, and really likes his mugs that he got to take home.
This is their first time of having the Polar Express, but I thought they did a great job.  There are always kinks to work out, but it was fun and the staff was very sweet.  It wasn't as polished as Branson's, but we had a lot of fun. It was the perfect way to start the month of December and get us all in the spirit of Christmas.
