The week before Thanksgiving, Finley had her parent watch night. They have been working on two dances, but will only be doing one at the recital. The class showed us My Favorite Things and Jingle Bell Rock. She as always was excited to show us what she has learned.
That Friday was Baylor's Thanksgiving Feast at school. After we had our meal, we went to his class so that they could show us their dioramas that they have been doing in class. Baylor had the rainforest, and he has talked about it for so long. He was excited to show it off to us.
We were off to Thanksgiving the following week. We spent Thanksgiving at my Moms house and then that night we headed over to my Dads for his meal. I made a great apple pie, but the noodles I made did not turn out. My mom had me do them in the roaster instead of the stove, and they just disappeared. I was so sad that all that work was ruined. The only good thing was that Andy's parents made them the next night.
Andy and Baylor went to the Mizzou game with Asa and Dad on Friday. It was so rainy and nasty out. They saw a win, but it looked miserable. While they were going to the game, I took the others to ring bells for the Salvation Army. They were so funny singing Jingle Bells and marching around with their bells. It was hard for people to walk by and not stop to to put money in the kettle.
We ended up leaving Saturday after celebrating Ellie's birthday. There was a storm coming Sunday and we wanted to get home before that.
Sunday morning the blizzard began. I'm not certain how much we got but I would say 5-6 inches. It was beautiful looking outside, but I am glad we didn't have to go out in it. It finally stopped around 6 that night. We have gotten more snow this fall than what we have had the last three winters.
The kids were out of school on Monday so I took them to see The Grinch. Atticus loves watching the Grinch, and he said this one was even better than the one on our tv. He did fall asleep 3/4 of the way through though.
On Wednesday the kids were able to finally make their snowmen. It has been at least three years since we have had the right snow to build one so the kids were so excited. Atticus was cold so he just watched from inside, but the rest got into it. The kids couldn't wait to get home each day this week so they could get outside for sledding, snowman making, and snow ball fights. I was kind of sad to see it go because they took full advantage of playing in it.
Random Things from Finley and Atticus:
Finley can take any normal object and play for hours. She organizes them, she pretends they are people talking to one another. She is just in her own little world.
Atticus is really into magformers, and building towers.
Atticus is still saying he and she instead of him and her. "I will go with he."
Atticus is really excited for Christmas, and making sure we get all the decorations in the right spots.
