Petticoat Junction

This past weekend was a busy one for us.  Briley had her first big dance recital on Friday night and it was sooo entertaining.  Number one was of course watching her but number two was watching the amazing talent at our studio.  There are some very talented dancers that I know are going to make it far in the dancing world someday.  I really found Briley's recital to be emotional in a way because dance means so much to me and to watch her enjoying it so much makes me happy.  I know she may not always have a passion for dancing like I did, but it makes her happy for now and that is okay by me.
The recital's theme was "Ticket to Ride."  I never would have guessed the amount of songs that revolved around transportation.   Briley's song was to "Petticoat Junction"  and it was pretty cute.  She has been battling a cold so I told her to not wipe her nose on stage just let it run until the dance was over.  She listened and it went great.  She then came out for the finale and was front and center.  She forgot about my lecture and decided to pick her nose and eat it in front of all to see.   Lovely:)  but also really entertaining.  Amity was lucky enough to get that on film.
Saturday we went to Good Juju for some shopping and I came out with two really cute side tables for the living room and a vintage baseball mitt for Baylor's future room.  I came home and Andy decided that maybe we needed new furniture to go with the new side tables.  I spent 60 dollars on two tables that ended up costing much more because it inspired us to buy new furniture on Sunday:)
We also had Briley's T-Ball game and pictures on Saturday which is always entertaining.  She really seems to enjoy it and does a pretty good job of paying attention to wear the ball is being hit.  She likes to make sure she is where the action is.  After the game was over we ordered Garozzo's take out for Mike and Mary Carol's anniversary and capped off the evening with Smallcakes cupcakes.  Delicious!

We went out to Nebraska Furniture Mart on Sunday to look at furniture.  This is always a fun trip in the beginning but nothing ever seems to go smoothly for us.  I decided on a couch, found the fabric, decided on the chairs, found fabric, and then we got a sales lady to help us.  Well, the couch order went smoothly and we moved on to the chairs which did not go as planned.  The chair was a close out and they couldn't order it in the fabric I wanted.  Messed up my whole thoughts.  We then found another chair from of course another brand and could not find fabric that we liked to match the couch.  We ended up having to change the the fabric for both which was disappointing.  I hate it when my mind is made and then I can't get it.  Our second choice is going to look fine I think, but our first choice would have been awesome.  Oh well, what can you do?  The lady was very patient with me for three hours as we looked and looked and looked.  She finally found a match that we could all agree on so I owe her a big thank you!
