Baylor's birthday was a bit different this year for him. He should have been at school celebrating, but the Coronavirus pandemic has escalated quickly throughout our country, and school has been cancelled for the rest of the school year. He was excited that he got to be home for his birthday, but maybe a little bummed that there wasn't a big party. I promise that we will celebrate his birthday when things have settled down a bit. With that being said, we did do our best to celebrate and thankfully he is pretty easy going.
We started the morning with balloons in his room, and a house decorated in Chiefs decor. We had pancakes and chocolate milk for breakfast which made him happy. He got a new scooter for his birthday and that had come in a few days before without a box, and the kids answered the door so he spent his birthday cruising around the neighborhood. He dropped off some tulips on his teachers doorstep and she said it made her day.
That evening we had the Brawners over for the birthday dinner. Baylor wanted Joe's BBQ and lucky for us it was Tuesday so kids meals were only 99 cents.;). We really went all out.
After dinner there were some presents to be unwrapped. He got some super cool new shoes, a new Chiefs backpack, water gun, a couple books to pass the time, large lego blocks, and a few other things.
When presents were over, we had a Dairy Queen cookies and cream blizzard cake to top off the evening. Although it was maybe not the birthday he thought he was getting, I think he was still one happy boy although Mr. Serious would never show it. I don't think he cracked a smile all night.
How do you describe Baylor at 10? He is full of confidence, creative, curious, loves freedom, persistent, brave, serious, and funny. I said this before when Briley turned 10, and I will say it now, "I love this stage that you are in right now." Mom and Dad are still pretty cool, you love to have conversations with us, and I absolutely cherish them. I always enjoy listening to your thoughts about everything around you. You make us so proud of the determination and hard work that you put into all you do. I'm certain that you are meant to do great things one day. Happy Birthday Baylor Boy!
