We are continuing to make the best of this summer with some fun activities. I signed Finley up for a Descendants hip hop dance camp, and that girl was so excited. It is her favorite movie right now, and we have had it on repeat in our house along with a girl that has not stopped dancing since the camp began.
We also celebrated Emmie's birthday a few weeks ago. I don't know as I have ever seen a little girl as excited as she was to celebrate her big day. The highlight you would think would be the power wheels jeep, but instead it was a little pink suitcase that she was ecstatic about. She is the cutest.
We also did our annual trip to the blueberry patch. The kids look forward to this trip not because of the blueberry picking, but the bakery treats afterwards.
Finley finally got up the courage to do the slides at the J pool, and now it is all she does. She goes from the slides to the diving boards, and then back again. It has been a two year process to have the courage to do it.
The Museum of Prairiefire was having a deal on tickets so we went to check that out along with the Brawners. It wasn't the best exhibit that they have had, but the kids were excited to get out on a rainy day, and do something. They enjoyed designing their own dinosaur, and watching it come across the screen. Emmie was not so sure about the dinosaur exhibits that moved, but Sully seemed to enjoy it. They all had fun going to the kids room upstairs to explore. They got to all hold a real falling star, and that was pretty cool.
Tennis has wrapped up for Finley and Baylor. They both really liked their lessons and now they are ready to play some games. Baylor has said he would like to sign up for that next summer instead of baseball. We will see what happens. Baseball and softball comes to a close this week. It's weird that it will officially be the last season for Briley after nine years. Two have decided they are done, and two can't wait to begin playing next summer.
One of the most exciting things to happen this July is the addition to the Taylor family. Gabriella Hope was born on July 14 and she is just the sweetest. We went to Kirksville for a few days to meet her, and the kids were head over heels for her. Atticus was full of questions like, "does she have a 1 pack, her hands are so little like a doll, and they made her good."
We spent a couple of afternoons hanging out with the Cleavers. We went over to their place for lunch and the kids had fun playing on the pond that afternoon. We then met them Monday evening for a few hours at Thousand Hills. The kids really liked tubing except for Atticus. The girls also had fun trying to ski. The boys were scaredy cats and Baylor of course got himself worked up and threw up off the side of the boat. That kid has one anxious stomach.
We took the kids out to the ranch for one evening, and they were so excited about that. Atticus could spend all day out there with the tractors, four wheelers, animals, hay bales. He was going from one thing to the next. Finley loved getting to sit on a horse. She was the only one brave enough to do that in our family.
We also celebrated Lincoln's birthday while we were home. He had a swim party to celebrate his day. All the grandkids were back together for a few days of the trip, and that was fun. It really doesn't happen very often. So nice to get away for a few days.
