We celebrated Finley's 7th birthday bash with a Mary Poppin's themed party that included lots of penguins because that is her favorite part! She has been talking about her birthday for months now, and was so excited to have it finally be her turn! She slept in her own room the night before which has happened a handful of times because she didn't want to miss waking up to a balloon filled room. She was up at about 6am to see her decorations, get the remote to watch Descendants, and she requested German pancakes for breakfast.
That afternoon, family arrived and we ordered Joe's for lunch. Lissy tried to get her to do Mexican, but she was not going to go anywhere with Lissy after being serenaded a few years ago at a Mexican restaurant. She wanted a turkey sandwich from Joe's and that is what she got. We followed up lunch by going to the rope park for the afternoon before the party began that evening.
That night we had pizza for dinner, and then present time. She was excited to get her nail stamper that she has been asking for since last Christmas, along with hair chalk, and make up to go with her new vanity that Grandma Julie gave her. She also got a new camera for her YouTube channel taping, headphones that light up, and new tennis shoes for school. She was one happy girl and excited about each and every gift she opened.
Cake was next and it was the cutest. I had my friend Ashlea from home make it, and Finley loved it so much. Perfect ending to the day.
Miss Finley brings so much happiness to our lives. The light that shines in her is contagious to all she is around. I love watching her continue to grow, and although this year will not be normal, she will make the most of it. Happy 7th birthday to our happy girl!
