The Summer That Keeps on Going

We finished baseball and softball just in time for soccer to begin the next week.  Briley had a home run in her last week of games, and that made the season for her.  It may have been the highlight of her softball career. Great season for both of their teams, and a lot of improvement from the beginning to the end.

Andy had a slow week at work, and so he took advantage of that to do some fun little projects around our house.  We had a block glass window in the front of our house that I have never really liked.  It is the shower and always felt like people could see me from outside.  Andy made a shutter to go over it, and it looks great.  He also added some shiplap to our front entryway and the master bedroom.  We love the way it all turned out!

Atticus decided to cut his hair again.  I don't know why he thinks that is a good idea right before weddings.  He wears me down somedays for sure.

We have visited two more parks in the last few weeks.  We had some cooler days and took advantage of it.  We loved the Meadowbrook park, and they just opened the cutest cafe with yummy pastries that we had to try.

We have been swimming a lot, and Atticus finally started to do the lily pads at the J.  Now they are pushing for him to do the diving board and slides, but I don't think it will happen this year.

Next came the celebration of Mr. Sully the day after Finley's birthday.  Caroline and Jared made his cake and I was super impressed.  Mine would never look that good.

This past week I took the kids to Science City.  The place was pretty empty since it was a Wednesday, and they had people continually wiping down things as you used them which is great since it is a hands on type of place.  They have done some remodeling since we were there last, so that was a fun surprise for the kids.  Atticus is asking when we can go back.  He loved the train room, and playing on the playground while watching trains go by.  He could have stayed there all day.

This past weekend Andy had a triathlon!  He finally found one that didn't cancel on him, and was so excited to get out there again.  He placed seventh overall, and got third place in his age group.  He missed a turn in the bike and it cost him about a minute.  That minute made him miss getting first on the bike and 5th overall.  He still did a great job, and so happy he got the opportunity to race.

The kids got a package in the mail yesterday from Amity and Billy.  It was filled with all kinds of goodies.  Coffee for me, huckleberry gummies, huckleberry brownie mix, a kids book on Glacier Park, and a koozie for Andy along with a card for each of us.  We found out our duties for their upcoming wedding, and the kids were all very excited.  We are all looking forward to their big day next summer.

This week we have another exciting wedding.  Molly and Brad get married on Friday and we can't wait to celebrate with them.  They have had a few obstacles along the way, but we have made it to the wedding week finally!  We watched Father of the Bride last night to get in the mood, and oh how I love that movie.

A train stops all the boys in their tracks.
