This year we went to St. Louis for a weekend during spring break. My Dad had given the kids Blue's tickets for Christmas, and they were so excited to go. We went Saturday morning, and dropped in to see the Sedlaks, Lissy, and Andy's parents before heading down to our hotel. Our room looked right into the new St. Louis soccer stadium. It looks really nice, and the kids want to come back to a game sometime.
That night, it was raining, so we went to Union Station to eat, and then we headed back to the hotel. It was just too yucky to do too much, and I was pretty tired.
The next morning, Baylor unfortunately woke up with a stomach bug. He spent the whole day in the hotel room, which was a real bummer since he had looked forward to the hockey game so much. The rest of us went to City Museum for the day. The kids had a blast exploring it all. We ran into our neighbors while we were there. They were spending the day there as well, and then going to the game that night. Always funny to run into people you know in unexpected places.
After all the fun, we went to eat a late lunch before going back to the hotel to get ready for the game. We made a quick change, and checked in on Baylor before we headed out. We had to laugh when we got to the stadium. We kept going up and up to the very top. The good news about being at the top was that know one was behind us, and we still had a good view. The Blues played the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The Blues lost 3-5, but it was a fun game! The kids are already asking when we can go back to another game, and of course Baylor is very ready to go back since he missed it.
The next day, we were on our way back home for the rest of spring break. Atticus had a play date with a friend, Finley went to the zoo with one of her friends, and then the Taylor family showed up on Thursday. We went downtown to do the Basketball experience, and then got some lunch at power and light district. That evening, the kids all slept at the hotel with Lissy, Brawners, and Taylor, while Andy and I had Oliver stay with us for the night. He did really well!
The next morning was St. Patrick's Day so we had a visit from a leprechaun who dropped off some surprises. It began snowing later that day, but was still sunny out. Cold St. Patrick's Day for sure. That evening, we had green pancakes at the Brawners house that night.
On Saturday, we went to Science City, which was pretty crowded, but the kids still had fun. We then went to Westport Flea Market for lunch. The kids loved all the arcade games that they have in there. They may have had more fun there than Science City. After lunch, we got ready for Patrick's baptism that evening. Father Edward did the baptism, and it was very sweet.
Sunday, was Winnie's first birthday. We celebrated with a trip to Andy's custard for some pup cups.
That night, I finally washed my hair after several days. It had started to come out on Wednesday so I just didn't wash it, but I couldn't go another day. It was really starting to fall out so Andy shaved it that night. It was emotional, but I was just delaying the inevitable. It felt better just to have it done.
Monday was the last day of spring break, and we decided to do Baylor's friend party. We took Baylor and four friends to Top Golf, and then to our house for cookies. They weren't quite as well behaved as when we did this with Briley's friend group. I was worried someone was going to fall off the edge or get whacked by a club, but we made it through. Glad to check off the friend party.
That was a wrap for our spring break this year. The weather wasn't the best, but still had a lot of fun.
