This past Saturday, we celebrated Atticus's First Communion. We were a little nervous going into it, because he got caught spitting the host out at practice last week. He kept telling me it was going to make him throw up if he had to swallow it. We had a lot of discussions, and when the day came, he did just fine.
He was so handsome in his suit. We had planned for him to wear Andy's like Baylor had done, but it was too big for him. I took him suit shopping a couple of weeks ago, and he went right to the rack, and he picked it out in a matter of seconds. So much easier than dress shopping with the girls. I got him a bow tie to match, and St. Michael the Archangel socks. He was very dapper.
After Church, we had an early dinner at our house, and then he got to open his exciting presents. I think he may have been a little disappointed in First Communion gifts. They aren't quite like birthday ones;)
The next morning we went back to Church for Divine Mercy Sunday, and he proudly wore his suit again, and did just fine with his second communion. I love seeing our children grow in their faith, and receive the sacraments of the Church. May your faith always guide you, Atticus.
