Briley just celebrated her 16th birthday, and has been asking me when I'm going to get her birthday post put on the blog. Briley loves our traditions, and 16 years ago, those traditions all started for us as we welcomed Miss Briley into our family.
Briley's birthday was on a Tuesday this year. It is always so busy around her birthday, and I really wanted to do something special for her since it is her 16th. Tuesday mornings are late start for the high school so I had her friends come over and surprise her for a breakfast. They snuck in through the garage, and were sitting at the kitchen table when she walked down. She was surprised! It was pretty cute, and the easiest birthday party I have ever had. 45 minutes later, they were off to Starbucks for Briley's free drink, and then on to school.
That afternoon, she had a soccer game at Miege. We skipped the other practices, and we all went to cheer Briley on. Their team won the game, and we were in charge of treats for the team afterwards. We then went to get Mexican for dinner, and then Andy's for dessert. We finished the night opening her presents. She got some new luggage, tickets to see Lauren Daigle, clothes for her upcoming beach trip, and a necklace. As busy as the day was, I hope she felt so loved.
Briley has brought us so much joy, a lot of laughter, and a few frustrations along the way;). She has a strong will, hence the frustrations, but I love that she will always stand up for what she believes is right. She has the determination and persistence to achieve anything she wants in this life, and I look forward to watching her do just that. We are so proud of the young lady she is growing up to be. Keep smiling that sweet smile, and enjoy this beautiful life.
