Last weekend the Cleaver family came down to hang out with us and we really had a good time. Friday night we were able to get a babysitter for all of our kids and we went to the Chief's game. The game was awful but I didn't even care because I don't remember the last time that we got a night out together without the kids in tow. Probably years.
On Saturday, we went to Crown Center to go to Kaleidoscope, check out the new Rainforest exhibit, and eat at Fritz's. The kids loved it all! Even Baylor kept walking around pointing at things for us to look at. He also loves painting and there was a lot of that at Kaleidoscope. It was the perfect place for all the different ages of kiddos that we have.
This weekend we have been crafty around the house. I have a little motivation to work on decorating the playroom again. I have been envisioning a wall covered in the alphabet but I want all the letters to be different looking and it has overwhelmed me for a year now. Briley and I started today and we took care of the B, X, and O. Not a lot, but at least it is a start. Baylor and Briley also painted on some canvases that I am going to hang in the playroom maybe. I like them so much that I almost hate to put them down in the basement. We'll see what happens.
Baylor has finally said a word that we understand. You might think that his first word would be Mama or Dada, but he usually screams at us if we try to get him to say either of those. His first word is uh-oh. I don't know if you would even call it a word, but he has really been into dropping things so that he can say it.
Andy spent the day with the kids on Friday because school was closed, and I had a teachers in-service day. Andy took Briley and Baylor to Deanna Rose and I got a text that he realized he forgot to brush Briley's hair before they went. Briley has the worst bed head that I have ever seen and he took her out in public. Sorry Lauren Shreve, our child doesn't usually look like such a ragamuffin. He then took both kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Brave guy he is to introduce this wonderful restaurant to her. She was in heaven. I wish I would have gotten a few pictures of the day because I am sure they would have been entertaining.
Next weekend Briley has her first soccer game and she is super pumped about it. The first thing that she does when she gets home is run inside and get her shorts, cleats, and shin guards on. She makes me smile and I can't wait to see her excitement next week:)
