May Time Fun!

The weather is finally starting to warm up, and it seems we are going straight into summer!  Last weekend we were bundled up at Briley's soccer game, and now it is in the 90's.  Briley is still busy in soccer, and we have our final two games this weekend.  She is really sad about her season being almost over:(  She is not the most competitive girl on the team, but you can tell by looking at her face when she is out there that she loves it.  There is always a smile, and a thumbs up to us if she does something well which is pretty cute.
Last weekend we went to the zoo with Caroline and Jared on a whim and the day was pretty fun.  They have a lot of things that they are working on, but Briley is most excited about the penguins coming in the fall! We also got the pleasure of seeing some camels doing really inappropriate things that was pretty entertaining to watch each families faces as they came around the corner.  Andy and Jared got some pictures, but I don't think they need to be on the blog.
I awoke on Sunday to breakfast in bed and gifts.  Briley gave me a flower pot that she painted, and a bookmark.  Baylor gave me some hand scrub that his class made and a placemat.  We went to Church and then we were off to the nursery to get a new tree.  I had plans to have an ash tree, but they told me not to do it with the borers coming this way.  We ended up getting a Bald Cypress and I love it!  I think it is really going to look great in the back of our yard.  Our neighbor said he was upset we were going to be eventually blocking his view of our back yard and I thought(that is the point)...privacy.  I like our neighbors, but sometimes you want a little privacy.  The rest of the day was spent doing yard work, planting flowers, and then we finished off with some steaks.  A perfect Mother's Day!
Today was Briley and Baylor's field trip to Deanna Rose.  Since both of their classes were going, I took off work to be a part of the fun.  I spent the first part with Briley and then I tagged along with Baylor's class for the second part.  It was a hot one out there, but the kids had a  lot of fun.  Their school year is wrapping up, and they are both having a lot of fun things.  Briley gets to practice going to the lunch room tomorrow to prepare for first grade and then field day is on Thursday.  Busy times!
