Mother's Day was a few weeks ago and it was beautiful. Kaitlin and Zane were staying with us so Andy got up early and went to get breakfast and coffee for us. We sat outside and just enjoyed the morning. Briley made a pottery sculpture at school that she was so excited to give to me. It is a little blue bird with three eggs in a nest. So sweet! Baylor made a card, and Andy bought me a new hammock that I am so excited to use. That night Andy grilled steaks and corn for dinner and by the end of the day I felt relaxed and pampered. I think we should celebrate Mother's day more than once a year don't you think?
Helping us spread mulch around the house. We had lots of helpers for that.
Miss Finley has really been a busy girl these past few weeks. She learned how to clap which can keep her occupied for quite a few minutes. She also has been shaking her head no at me; especially when I try to feed her baby food. She thinks she is a big girl now and wants nothing to do with it. I love that she is such a great eater, but it is definitely more work than pulling the baby food out of the pantry. She went to her 9 month check up this week and she is in the 10th percentile for her weight and the 40th percentile for her height. I'm so excited that we have a child that is on the charts!
Briley wrapped up another year of soccer and had a great season. We ended the year with our annual parents versus kids soccer match followed by a pizza party.
This past weekend the Cleavers made a trip down to see us. We had a great time just being able to relax and catch up. We went to Legoland on Friday night when they got into town. The kids had a blast, and it has inspired them all to build with Legos. Andy went down to turn off the tv in the living room that night after we went to bed and Bright was still awake building. After Legoland we made a stop at Manny's for mexican. The guys talked about getting take out, but Tab and I were craving margaritas and you just can't make them as good at home.
Saturday was a rainy day so the guys took the kids to the movies and Chick-fil-a while Tab and I took the babies and did a little shopping. By later that afternoon it cleared up and we enjoyed an evening sitting outside grilling. Overall, I think everyone had a great time and we need to do it again soon.
