Summer finally began for Briley and Baylor on May 30th, and they were so excited. It is hard to believe another year is over. Baylor loved his teacher Mrs. Pam and I think he is going to be a little sad that she is leaving the early childhood class to teach third grade. On the up side he or Briley might just get her again which would be fun. I picked Briley up on the last day and decided to take them to Windstead's for a skyscraper shake. It is big enough for four people and I thought that would get them both pretty excited, but everyone seemed to have my idea and the place was a mad house so we opted for Freddy's and they still got to get ice-cream.
That night I did a little kick off to summer hot dog roast and smore's. I used Briley's decorations from her beach birthday party and it turned out pretty cute. Miraculously all our neighbors were able to come over with some old ones so that was a lot of fun. The kids had water balloon fights, ate smore's and played until close to midnight.
Sunday was Briley's dance recital and she did such a great job. She danced to Yankee Doodle and she did Close to You with Andy. I just loved seeing them dance on stage together, and I know it will be a wonderful memory for Briley.
The kids have started swimming lessons and we just signed up to be members of the Jewish Community Center so they are pretty excited about all of that. Briley also got a Passport around America activity set from my Grandma so we have been studying a state each week. Last week was Hawaii and we made lei's, learned to hula dance, I introduced her to Elvis Presley;), and a hike around the Arboretum to name a few.
This week is Kansas which I am learning a few things too about the state. The Icee was invented here. Did you know that? We might just have to get one to celebrate Kansas week. I was hoping to take Briley to see Wizard of Oz on Thursday at the Starlight but it looks too rainy so I think we will have to just watch the movie at home.
Lastly, Briley has kicked off her softball season and is loving it! She does such a great job fielding and hitting the ball. Andy and I are beginning to think this might just be her sport. Her team is called the Pink Tornadoes and they are all girls from her elementary school so it has been a lot of fun for her.

Summer Kickoff
He had a little too much fun. (Notice his pants are also backwards)
Last day of school.
Briley's new hobby is climbing trees and taking obnoxious pictures.
