This past week was really busy, but fun filled. We went to a Sporting KC game on Tuesday night. This was Atticus's first game, and I think all the noise put him in a happy trance because he was great. Finley also had a great time clapping and yelling "Goooo." The great thing about soccer games is that they are action packed. There is always drums, chanting, and the players are constantly on the move. It really keeps our kid's attention. We played St. Louis and we won 1-0. They had an excellent goalie, and we were impressed that they held us 0-0 until the last few minutes of the game.
Thursday was our ten year anniversary. On our way we talked about how we really just can't believe it has been that long. We went out to eat at 801 Chophouse, which is where we ate last year. We really took our time, and had a great meal. The problem that we had was our waitress. She was very pushy and did a few things to hike up our bill without us even knowing until the end. Andy and I are still really annoyed, by the sneakiness, and honestly don't think we will go back. It is really too bad that a well known establishment could be like that. Andy was talking about it at work the next day, and it turns out we weren't the only ones to be tricked. Oh well, live and learn I guess but they lost our business.
My Dad and Rick came into town on Friday night. We grilled, and enjoyed the weather. We even had a hot air balloon show as two of them went over our house. The next day we had a 12:00 softball game. The team had their first loss, and we will blame it on the heat:) Briley did a great job hitting and catching. She even got one ball right in the face mask, and shook it off.
After the game we went to Martin City Brewery for lunch. It was the first time for us, but I have been wanting to go there for a long time. The food was really good, and the beer too. Andy took the kids home for naps while I stayed with Rick and Dad for one more beer before heading back home. We got Baylor ready for his pictures and game, and Andy took him while I let Finley sleep a little longer. We went to his game, and then got ice cream afterwards. It was a hot busy day, but I think everyone had a good time.
Sunday was Father's Day so I made a big breakfast. Briley could not contain her excitement for the presents. She and Baylor made Andy ties that had questions that they answered. We also got him The Matheny Manifesto, a Cardinals hat, and some updated pictures for his office. Rick and Dad left around 10 or so, and after getting the house straightened up, we went to the pool for a bit. Clouds rolled in about an hour after we got there, and they cleared the pool due to lightening. We never saw the lightening and the sun was out again by the time we got home. We lounged around for a bit and then I made fried chicken for dinner. It was a nice relaxing day which we needed after Saturday's running around.
I finally finished my nursery wall. I still need to move the two outside pictures in, but I love how it turned out. A wall of our four babies.
This girl is going to make me lose my mind. She is into everything!
Just lounging in Atticus's seat.
Dumped out a whole box of rice cereal.
Some how she got herself into the baby swing, and then got stuck.
